Happy New Year 2020 Inspired By Challenge 104

Dec. 26. 2019

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and hopefully you are still celebrating!  BEST WISHES to all as we enter the New Year 2020!!

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

We have a fantastic photo for all of you!

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the Drinks? trio? colors? theme? We can't wait to see what you create.

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a black panel on the top of the card.  I cut the Gatsby Die by Pink Fresh with gold foil and cut it again in black and paper pieced the black pieces into  the gold frame.   The fireworks are heat embossed in gold powder and I added a gold sequin in the center of each one.  I stamped the sentiment in black.

Sassy Since Birth Freshly Made Sketches 416

Dec. 21, 2019

Today I am playing along with the wonderful ladies at Freshly Made Sketches.  This fabulous sketch is by Amy.  It is definitely perfect for any occasion!

I am FINALLY finished with my Christmas cards and I needed a birthday card for my special friend Donna.  She is also my shortest friend and born on the shortest day of the year.  LOL!

Let me tell you a little about my friend Donna.  We have known each other for 35 years.  I love her!  We taught together for years and have remained close through the years.  She is really my "sister" from another Mama.  She is probably the "fanciest" dresser I know.  We both LOVE clothes and shoes.  She also, loves winter.  I DO NOT!  I always say it is because she grew up in Atlanta and never had to scrape ice off her car or shovel snow like we did in Indiana.  So, for her card, I created a snowy scene.  I distressed the background and used shiny embossing paste with a stencil to create the snow.  The sweet girl is a MFT Pure Innocence stamp Happy You Day stamp set.  I colored her with Copic Markers and paper pieced her skirt and balloon. Lots of glossy accents made the fur on her sweater and boots shine.  I love the way she turned out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Hope you are almost ready for Christmas!  I am!

Peace Inspired By 103

Dec. 19, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at  Inspired By!

It is less than a week until Christmas!  I hope you are ready so you can enjoy!  I still need to do some baking, but I am finished with my Christmas cards and shopping.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the colors, pinecones, bowl, nature?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I trimmed a watercolor panel with a stitched die.  I smooshed distress ink on the panel.  When it was dry, I added water drops and white paint splatters on top of the distress ink.  I used a retired Stampin Up stamp set Ornamental Pine for the pine branch and pine cone.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I used navy ink to stamp over the embossing for the pine cone.  I used a die to cut out the sentiment 5 times in silver glimmer paper.  It adds so much dimension to the sentiment.

Let It Snow Inspired By 102

Dec. 12, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

It's two weeks until Christmas, so I hope you have your cards almost finished for this year.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the colors,  bells, ladder, twine, ribbon, snowflakes?

I was inspired by the colors, the bells and the snowflakes.  My card is created on a white card base.  I added light blue card stock to the top of the white panel.  A red panel was trimmed with a scalloped die.  The sentiment and snow flakes are from the Honey Bee Stamps Jingle All The Way stamp set.  I heat embossed all of these with white embossing powder on the red panel.  I added rhinestones to all the snowflakes.  The silver twine was wrapped around the top of the card and a few jingle bells were added for fun.

Guide Us To The Perfect Light Paper Players 471

Dec. 8, 2019

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

Before I get to this week's challenge I would like to say "THANK YOU" to our fantastic Guest Designers:  Wanda, Su and Windy, you have been AMAZING to work with!  I adore all of your beautiful creations each week!  Please continue to play along with us!

The lovely LeAnne is our hostess this week and she has a gorgeous color challenge for all of us!  Seaside Spray and Crumb Cake plus Silver or Gold.  I know there will be so many wonderful creations in our gallery with this fabulous combo.

I couldn't decide if I wanted to use gold or silver with the Seaside Spray and Crumb Cake so, I made one of each.  My card background is Seaside Spray.  I added a piece of gold/ silver glimmer paper for the next layer.  Then I added another layer of S.S. I heat embossed the design in silver/gold embossing powder from the retired Stampin' Up! Star of Light stamp set. The matching thinlits were used to cut the star in three different layers.  I used Crumb Cake and the silver/gold glimmer paper to make the large stars.  I embossed the sentiment and it is from the same stamp set.  I added rhinestones on the silver one and gold sequins on the gold one.  Do you have a favorite?  My photos don't do them justice.  (It is hard to get photos of glimmer paper) SORRY!

Deer Inspired By 101

Dec. 5, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By.

Time is ticking away and I still need to make more cards.  Do you?  If so, I hope you can find time to play along with us this week.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the snow, the hoops, the trees, the deer, the ribbon?

I was inspired by the hoops and the deer in the photo.   I added a snowy background paper  on a white card base.  I cut three banner strips of coordinating paper.  The circle is cut with a stitched die in Kraft paper.  The little deer is from Avery Elle Kitsch Christmas Deer/Bells stamp set.  I colored him with Copic Markers and used the matching die to cut him out.  I used a white gel pen to add to the spots and his eye.  Baker's twine was added for the bow.
