May Your Days Be Merry & Bright Keeping Christmas

July 25, 2019

This year is flying by and believe it or not, Christmas is 5 months away!

It's time for this month's installment of the Keeping Christmas Inspriration Blog Hop!  The Challenge Design Team is sharing Christmas creations on the 25th of each month!

The whole idea is to have some Christmas cards and projects in our stash ready to go for December 2019!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Lesley Croghan (off this month)
    Julee Tilman

My card is created on using Kraft paper.  I love the rustic feel for Christmas cards.  I attended a Scrapbooking expo last week and picked up this fabulous pack of retro paper from Echo Park Paper Co. called  A Very Merry Christmas.  I absolutely LOVE every piece in this pack.  I cut a two inch strip and distressed the sides with ink.  I cut the poinsettia and leaves from matching papers in this pack.  I used poinsettia dies from My Favorite Things called Perfect Poinsettia.  I cut lemon lime centers with the same dies and added a button and some twine to complete my card.

This card was so easy to make.  I actually made 4 of them to put in my stash.  I made them all alike, just switched out the envelope flap cover with what ever scraps I had left.  Such a great way to use up paper and it gives a big pop in the mailbox.

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

Hello Inspired By Challenge 82

July 25, 2019

Inspired By has a new challenge today!

Isn't this a gorgeous inspiration photo?  I love this color combination. How are you inspired? colors? flowers? number? cluster? wine?  We can' wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut a white cover plate using the Altenew Layout Plaid Cover Plate B.  I used the Stitched Blooms Dies  by MFT.  I cut the flowers using orange and yellow card stock and used green for the leaves.  The hello is cut in black using a die.   I added retired candy dots to the centers of the flowers.  These flowers are a favorite of mine and I use them over and over.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.  We sure hope you will play along with us this week!

Happy Birthday to a Classic Guy Paper Players Challenge 451

July 21, 2019

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The amazing Ann is our hostess this week and she has a Clean and Simple Challenge for us.  The theme is---Masculine!  I know this is a difficult one for many of us, but we ALWAYS need a card for a guy in our stash.  So, put on those thinking caps and join us!

Minimal Layers and Embellishments
Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
Simple and Uncluttered

My card was very easy to create.  I looked through my stash of DSP and found this awesome black and white checked paper.  I added it to the top of my white card.  I cut a banner using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners Die using white water colored paper.  I liked the texture in the paper.  I stamped the truck from a Unity Stamp called Slowly Turning Classic.  It was a gift from my dear friend, Laurel Seabrook.  She is so talented and you must visit her blog!  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I added black and white Baker's Twine in the holes and tied a bow to complete my card.  I added some DSP to the envelope flap for fun.

I Love You FMS 397

July 20, 2019

I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge!

Kim has a wonderful sketch for all of us!

My grands love S'mores, so I used this stamp several times this week to create cards for each of them.  Kim's sketch was perfect for all my yummy items!

Red and white gingham checks shouts out picnic or campfire fun, so I used some patterned paper backed in light gray for my two panels.  I cut Zig Zag circles from SugarPea Designs for the background on my cracker, marshmallows and candy bar.

This stamp set is from Neat and Tangled.  It is called S'more Fun.  I used the matching dies to cut all the pieces out.  A fun sentiment from the same set and a few red hearts completed my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Sassy Since Birth Sketch Saturday # 573

July 20, 2019

Good Morning Everyone...it's time for a new sketch at Sketch Saturday!

We have a great new sponsor this week:
My Besties has generously offered digital stamps of the winner's choice.

Here is sketch #573:

I just received this fun stamp and had to play with it.
I love the Pure Innocence stamps from My Favorite Things and this sassy girl just called my name.  Happy You Day is in their new release.

Pink and black are a favorite combo of mine. I found this animal print in my stash and thought it would be perfect to paper piece her skirt and balloon.  I also used it for my background panel.  I took the liberty of moving my sentiment.  I colored her with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  We sure hope you will join us this week with your wonderful creations!  Don't forget to stop by all the DT blogs for lots of inspiration!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely LeAnne is our hostess this week.  She has an amazing color challenge for all of us!  I love these bold, vibrant colors! We can't wait to see what you create!

My grandson, Robert loves blues and greens so, this gave me the perfect opportunity to make his card.  I can't believe he is 5!!!!  Time flies!

My base card is Blueberry Bushel.  I layered the Granny Apple Green with the BB.  I love the way it popped.  The candles are from MFT    I used Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green to create the candles.  I used yellow ink for the flames and added the hearts stamped in Blueberry Bushel.  A quick and easy card for a special little fellow!
