Bugs and Kisses Craftin Desert Divas Creative Challenge Shaker Cards

August 30, 2018

Today the Craftin Desert Divas Blog  is sharing the Shaker Card Creative Challenge.

I love making shaker cards and I do believe the recipient is thrilled to receive them!  Who wouldn't want to shake all those pretty sequins.

My card is created on a white 5x5 base.  I found this ladybug paper in my stash and knew it was perfect for my top layer.  I cut a black square and then cut a circle in the black square using the Stitched circle dies.  I cut another red frame using the largest die from this set.  I trimmed a piece of window sheet to make the see through part of the shaker.  I added double sided tape around the shaker to hold it together.  Lots of sequins were added to fill in the shaker.

I stamped the ladybug from the Ladybug Garden stamp set.  I colored her with Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents were added for shine.  I created the sentiment on my computer.  I added a few more sequins for fun!

One helpful hint for creating shaker cards is:
Don't overfill your shaker card. Use a variety of items in the shaker for more interest. (sequins, tiny beads, or die cut items that go along with the theme of your card)

Please make sure you visit the Craftin Desert Divas  Blog to see all the shaker cards on this creative challenge and read all the ideas and tips to help them.

Any one that knows me, knows I LOVE hippos.  When I saw this one at LaLaLand Stamps, I knew I had to have it!  The name of the set is Deck the Halls.  I stamped the hippos on Neenah Solar White with Memento black ink. I cut them out with my Scan N Cut machine.  I colored them with Copic Markers.

I created the little houses using the Build-A-House die.  I made one in pink and one in green and alternated the windows on each house.  The background is created using a snow embossing folder.  I used border dies to create the snow banks and distressed the edges with ink.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I added Wink of Stella for shine.

I hope my hippos made you smile!

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Thanks You"re A Peach PP406

August 19, 2018

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

Our sensational Sandy is the hostess this week and she has a fun challenge for all of us!  It's a Clean and Simple week and we need to use fruits and vegetables.  What a perfect summer challenge idea!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a rectangle of black and white striped paper from MFT.  The peaches are stamped in two shades of orange.  The set is from Papertrey Inks Still Life Summer stamps.  The sentiment is stamped in black.  It is from the same set.  Wink of Stella was added to the peaches for shine.  Since I live in Georgia, this is perfect for a Sweet Ga Peach that I know!
