Boo! Paper Players PP506

August 30,2020

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The amazing Ann is our hostess this week and she has a fun Tic Tac Toe Challenge for all of us!   I love TTT boards because the variety of cards is always so creative!  Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create!

I used the diagonal:  Patterned Paper, Embossing, Die Cut.

I created a slim line card using dies.  I found a piece of Halloween paper that had this fun spider on it.  I cut it to fit the card with the die.  I embossed the spider webs across the top in black embossing powder.  I cut the BOO out of alpha bet letter dies.  It was such an easy card to create!

Let's Celebrate You Tic Tac Toe Challenge #tttc079

August 27, 2020

It's time for a new challenge at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

We hope you will play along with our new board!

I played on the diagonal:  Yellow, Big Sentiment, Heat Embossing

I added a Black and White Striped background using patterned paper from MFT on a white card base.   A red rectangle was added for a pop of color.  I used yellow distress ink on a water color panel and then cut the letters out using the MFT Happy Birthday Block Die.  Then I cut a white rectangle and cut the words again.  I paper pieced the yellow letters inside the white panel.  The sentiment was heat embossed on black paper with white embossing powder.

Please stop by and see all the fabulous cards by the Design Team.  There is so much inspiration!

We hope you will play along with us this week!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Kelly Lunceford (Creator)

I love tall and skinny cards.  I cut my base 3.5" X 7".  I used the Pink and Fresh Slim Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut the Mint layer and the snowy patterned paper.  The sentiment was cut using the Lawn Fawn Winter Big Scripty Word Dies.  I cut the mint 4 times and the white one time to add dimension to the sentiment.  The snow flake is cut from a die I found in my stash.  I added a lot of rhinestones to the middle of the snowflakes.  I plan to make a few more of these cards.  It was a quick and easy card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.
ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

My first layer on my white card base is black.  Then I added a piece of polka dots to create the background.  I added a small black rectangle for the next layer.  The top layer is white.  I sponged the edges with black.  I stamped a few bats on the edge and colored them with a black colored pencil.  The witch is from The Rabbit Hole Designs Hex Yeah Stamp Set.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and fussy cut it.  I used dimensional tape on the back to give it dimension.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

BOO! Paper Players Challenge PP505

August 23, 2020

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!!

The lovely LeAnne is our hostess this week.  She has a fabulous and creative sketch for all of us!  We can't wait to see what you create!

I love Halloween cards and this is the first one for the upcoming session!  I started with a white card base and selected 3 different patterned papers to create the background for LeAnne's sketch.  I love this sketch because you can make a huge variety of cards with it.  I added an orange rectangle I cut with a die in my stash.  I though it looked like Halloween with the raggedy edges.  The little ghost is a Simon Says Stamp GHOST BOO Wafer Die.  I cut the ghost out twice.  Once in black and once in white to add the black eyes, mouth and the sentiment.  A few enamel dots were added for fun!

Notes For a Special Teacher Paper Players Challenge PP504

August 16, 2020

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

I am the hostess this week and I have a "Back to School" Clean and Simple challenge for all of you!
I will always be a teacher at heart, so I get excited about new crayons, notebooks, pencils, etc.  I know school looks very different for many this year.  A lot of the schools in Georgia are back in session, but it is virtual  school.  Other schools are trying split sessions.  It is such a difficult time, but I know there is a teacher, student or staff member that would love a card for encouragement.  So, have fun and get creative!

REMEMBER THIS IS CLEAN AND SIMPLE WEEK

What do we mean by Clean and Simple?

Minimal layers and embellishments
Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
Simple and uncluttered

I added a strip of school buses to the side of my white card base.  I had several types of school paper in my stash and found this ABC paper.  I used the SugarPea Designs Journal Notebook dies to cut it out.  I also cut the "Notes" and the pencil from the same die set.  I couldn't find it listed on the site, so maybe it is discontinued.  The All Apples stamp from Reverse Confetti was used to stamp a red and green apple.  I used the matching die to cut the apples out. I had to stop there since it is Clean and Simple week.  You know that is hard for me, because I love embellishments!

Thinking of You Tic, Tac, Toe Challenge #tttc077

August 13, 2020

It's time for a new challenge at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

We hope you will play along with our new board!

I had so much fun making this card.  I decide to use the diagonal.  Metallic-Tag-Circle
I found this metallic llama paper in my stash.  I added the fun aztec pattern on a white card base.  The copper metallic tag was cut using a die.  The llama is actually from a piece of the paper in the pack.  I used a sunburst die and cut it out to add to the tag.  The only stamping is the sentiment.  A little ribbon and my card was complete!  So shiny and fun!

  • Have Fun!!!
The challenge will end on Friday Aug.21st  @ 6pm EST.

I wanted to send a card to a friend that is battling breast cancer.  I started on a white card base and then stenciled a panel for the top layer.  I used three colors of Distress inks.  I trimmed the panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die.  I love this flower stamp and have used it before, but I do not know what company it is from.  If anyone can advise me on this I would greatly appreciate it.  Somehow it did not have a name imprinted on it and I lost the original package.   The sentiment reads--You Are --and on the inside  A fighter!  I love it!  Just a little something to encourage her to keep fighting!

Congrats on Your New Home Paper Players Challenge PP503

August 9, 2020

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The amazing Joanne is our hostess this week and she has a bright, vibrant color challenge for all of us.

Now, I must admit I love bold colors, but this combo threw me for a loop.  I needed a card for a couple that just purchased a new home, so I thought I would give it a try.  She is an artist so,  hmmmm---whimsical might be a fun way to go.  I layered Night of Navy and Pool Party on top of a white card base.  I added a piece of watercolored paper that I stenciled using a Tim Holtz sunhine and Distress inks.  I combined a yellow and peach to make the Mango Melody.  I used the stamp set Doddle Buds by WPlus9 for the flowers, leaves and stitch marks.  I colored the flowers with Copic Markers and cut them out with the matching dies.  The sign was stamped using the Welcome Home stamp set by Neat and Tangled Stamps.  I cut it out with the matching die.  A little Wink of Stella was added to the flowers and leaves for shine.  I ended up loving the color combo and hope you do, too!  Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a layer of silver glimmer paper.  The next panel is white and embossed with a 3D embossing folder.  The bride is stamped in black ink using the stamp  Haute Wedding Dress from The Ton stamp set.  I added the trim with silver embossing powder.  I colored her skin and hair with Copic Markers.  A few sparkling clear sequins were added to complete the card.
