If The Broom Fits, Ride It! --PP 260

August 30, 2015

It's Sunday and time for another challenge at The Paper Players!  The amazingly, talented Nance is our hostess this week.  She has a FUN Tic-Tac-Toe challenge for us to play along with.  I love to see all the fabulous creations from a Tic-Tac-Toe board.  I am always fascinated by all the creativity that comes from the categories.

I wanted to use my new Halloween stamp from Stampin' Up!  It is called, "If the Broom Fits!"  I laugh every time I think about it.  The stamp is featured in the new Handmade for the Holidays catalog.  It goes live on Sept. 1st.

I  chose the diagonal row -Ribbon, Embossing and Sequins.  My base card is a Basic Black square.  (5 X 5)  The next layer is Elegant Eggplant. I found this old Halloween paper in my stash.  I loved the green and black color combo.

I cut a black rectange and stamped the sentiment in Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with with white embossing powder.  I cut a piece of the matching paper to add able the sentiment on the black rectangle.  I added another black rectangle horizontally and used another piece of the Halloween card stock.  I used masking tape to cover two of the brooms and only stamped 3 of them on white card stock.  I used black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I cut this rectangle with stitched dies.  I mounted it on Elegant Eggplant.  Before I attached it, I found this green ribbon in my stash and I adhered it behind the broom piece.  I also made a bow out of Black and White Baker's Twine and adhered it with a glue dot.  Two green sequins from Pretty Pink Posh-Peridot Mist were added.

You Are Better Thank Summer Sunshine! --SSC108

August 23, 2015

It's time to play along with Sunday Stamps!  This week we have a fun sketch for you to use!  We can't wait to see what you create!  Soooo many possibilities with this sketch!

  • Have fun!!!
  • The Challenge is open for 2 weeks and the Linky will close on Friday, September 4th @ 6pm EST

  • My card was very easy to create today.  The base card is white. (5 1/2 X 4 1/4) I  cut another piece of watercolor paper (5 1/2 X 3).  I used a Tim Holtz-Layering Stencil-Rays and Spiced Marmalade Distress ink and sponged it on the watercolor panel. I spritzed it very lightly with water.  After it dried, I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp-August-Summer Sunshine kit with black Versa Fine and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I added a piece of Bermuda Bay twine from Stampin' Up! that I had in my stash.  (It is retired now.) I think this was was one of the quickest cards I have ever made.  I love the way it turned out!

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

    Merry Christmas--PP 259

    August 23, 2015

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  The multi-talented, Joanne, is our lovely hostess this week and she has a fun sketch challenge for everyone this week!  We can't wait to see what you create!

My base card is white. (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  The top layer is cut using the  SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched dies.  The Designer Series Papers featured on my card  are from the  "Home For Christmas" collection in the new catalog by Stampin' UP!.  It will be available for purchase on Sept. 1st.  (Let me know if you need a catalog!)   I absolutely LOVE this paper!!   It is my favorite item in the new catalog!  The Real Red banner was cut using the Avery Elle-Dotted Elle-ments die set.  I love the way the little holes give the appearance of paper piercing.

I used the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Circles for the two circles.  The papers are also from the "Home for Christmas" DSP collection.  The sentiment was stamped in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I found this stamp in my stash. Two Real Red Candy Dots were added for fun.  I also wrapped some red and white Baker's Twine around my card and tied a bow.  This card was very quick to make!
