Close Your Eyes and Make A Wish- FMS294

June 30, 2017

I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  Amy's sketch was horizontal this week.  I don't make many horizontal cards, but it was perfect for the card I wanted to create for my GRANDdaughter, Victoria.  She turns 5 on Sunday.  She loves purple and is such a lover of nature, flowers and being outside.  I call her our "quintessential hippie!"

My card is created on a purple card base.  I know it doesn't show very well in the picture. Sorry!  I added a white scalloped background and distressed the edges with Broken China Distress ink.  A piece of Lawn Fawn plaid was added behind the main rectangle.  The little fairy is from MFT  Fairy Happy stamp set.  I colored her with Copic Markers and added lots of Wink of Stella for shine to her wings, hair and dress.  I used the matching dies to cut her out.  A few flowers and butterflies along with the sentiment were stamped from the same set.  Sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for sparkle.

I know my precious angel will love his card!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend!

You're The Coolest! --PP #350

June 25, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

We have a huge announcement today!  We are excited to welcome two new Guest Designers to our team:

and

Deanne will remain as a GD for another term.

A huge thank you to Crystal and Valentyna for being with us the last six months.  We all enjoyed their fabulous creations!

Now, on to our sketch for this week.  The fabulous Nance is our hostess this week!  Her sketch is so versatile and can be used for any type of card.  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used the MFT Balloon Strings background stamp.  I inked it with Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.  I used different shades of blue distress inks to create the watercolored background.  I wanted it to look like water.  I also used an old retired SU polka dot background stamp to create the side border.  I heat embossed it with silver embossing powder, too.  The little penguin and the tree are from MFT Penguins In Paradise stamp set.  I stamped them on Neenah Solar White and colored them with Copic Markers.  A white circle was cut with a stitched die and sponged for the penguins background.  Wink of Stella and clear sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for shine and fun.

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

You Are the Best of the Bunch! Sketch Saturday #469

June 24, 2017

It's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!

Our sponsor this week is Just Me Digital Stamps!
The winner will select 3 digi stamps!

I used the Boy With Flower digi stamp to create my card.

My card is created on a white card base.  I used some patterned papers I found in my stash for the background.  I copied the little boy image on Neenah Solar White paper and colored him with Copic Markers.  I backed this image with a piece of yellow card stock.  Red enamel dots and Wink of Stella were added for fun.  I added some Pool Party twine around the card to complete the sketch.  The sentiment was part of the digi image.  No stamping on my card today!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Bikinis Are Like Fries--tttc003

June 23, 2017

I just found the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  I am so excited!  I love to play with Tic Tac Toe boards and some of my favorite card makers are on this team!

I am playing with the two diagonals.  Blue-Twine-Rectangle and Yellow-Twine-Bow!  That makes an X on the board. My card also fits the bottom row Yellow-Stitching-Rectangle!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a piece of Lost Lagoon behind my white stitched rectangle.   I stenciled a big bright yellow sun and a few puffy clouds.  I just received the SSS monthly kit Hello Summer.  It included this tiny little bikini die and I was dying to use it.  I can tell you this girl has not seen a bikini since I became a mother, but it is still a fun thought.  LOL!  And
I agree "Bikinis are like fries---You Can't Have Just One!"   I created a little clothes line with twine and added two bows on the end of the line.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you have a sunny day!

Why Fit In When You Were Born To Stand Out--FMS293

June 23, 2017

I am playing along with Freshly Made Sketches today.
I was intrigued by the sketch by the talented Karren!

My card is created on a white card base.  I stamped a variety of tropical leaves in different shades of green using the new stamp set from SugarPea Designs Tropics Like It's Hot .  I used the matching dies to cut them all out.  I cut a white circle from another piece of white card stock for the frame.  I stamped the sentiment from Let's Flamingle  from SugarPea Designs.  I also stamped a pink flamingo in two different shades of pink from the same set.  The matching dies were used to cut out the flamingo.  Wink of Stella and sparkling clear sequins were added for fun!

June 22, 2017

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at The Challenge!

Each week we have a fun challenge for you to try!  We do a different style of challenge each week.  We like to mis things up and keep them fresh!  This week we have a Keyword Challenge for you!

This is NEW!

You are welcome to use any many of the words

How will the words inspire you?

I love square cards, so I knew right away that I wanted my card to be a square.  I adore bright colors, flowers, and watercoloring so this challenge made me very happy!

My card is created on a white base.  The black square frame was cut using SSS stitched square dies.  I  created a watercolored background on watercolored paper using red, yellow and orange Peerless Watercolors.  I trimmed it with the stitched square dies, too.  I used the MFT Doddled Blooms stamp set and dies to create all the flowers, stems and leaves.  I colored them with Copic Markers.  Some were adhered with dimensionals.  Keep Smiling was stamped in black Memento ink.  Wink of Stella and clear sparkling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for shine.

Enjoy Summer--SSC155 and Creative With Stamps #15

June 18, 2017

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads!  I had a great Daddy, and I miss him so much!  I hope all of you have time to visit with your father if you can.  Time is so precious!

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps!  This beautiful color palette is perfect for your summer creations!

Use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice.

I am also entering my card in the Creative With Stamps challenge.  Their theme is fruit!

My card is created on a white card base.  I pulled out an old Papertrey Inks stamp set Still Life Summer  and found this awesome DSP in the box.  YIPPEE!  It was perfect for my card.  I stamped three limes and three lemons and one group of cherries from this set.  I used a strip of Melon Mambo card stock on the edge and also cut a heart border.  I cut out the word "Enjoy" five times and then used a sponge to add Melon Mambo ink on the sentiment.  I covered it with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.  I also added Glossy Accents to the cherries to make them shiny.  The word "Summer" is stamped in black Memento ink using a SSS stamp set Flip Flop Season.  A few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for fun.

Sending Hugs and Prayers-- ctd447 and SIP #103

June 17, 2017

I had some extra time in my tepee today so, I am playing along with the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge and the Color Throwdown challenge.  I was so excited to see this sketch and I just loved the color palette this week.

Unfortunately, I found out that a dear family member is having serious surgery this week.  I wanted to send her a card so she would know I was praying for her.

My card is created on a Night of Navy card base.  I used Lemon Lime Twist and Crumb Cake card stock for the next two panels  They were cut using the MFT Blueprints 20  dies.  The little girl image is from MFT Bed Rest stamp set. I colored her with Copic Markers and added lots of Wink of Stella for shine.  I used the matching dies to cut her out.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts prayers set.  I stamped it in black Memento ink.  I also cut the word "always" out four times in Lemon Lime Twist and once in Night of Navy for the top sentiment.  A few enamels dots were added for fun.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!

I Miss You, That Is All FMS 292

June 17, 2017

I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge today!  Cecile has a fantastic sketch this week.

I just received this fun set from My Favorite Things and couldn't wait to ink it up.  Penguins In Paradise makes me smile just to look at all the adorable images.

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut another white panel with a stitched rectangle die.  I used a sun rays stencil and brushed Squeezed Lemonade distress ink on the panel.  I cut the three circles using SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched circle dies.  I stamped the little penguin and paper pieced his pants.  Who doesn't like polka dot swim shorts? Copic Markers were used to color him.  I stamped the sentiment in black Memento ink and added a few enamel dots for fun.  Wink of Stella was added to the penguin and ice cream bar.

My little grandson will receive this card one day.  He is my ice cream eating buddy!

Hope you are having a fantastic weekend!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
