You're A-MAIZE-ING Craftin Desert Divas

September 28, 2018

Today I am sharing my card for the September release at Craftin Desert Divas!

My easel card is created on an Expresso brown card base.  I used a vanilla rectangle for the main panel.  The background was sponged using Distress inks.  The corn was created using the Harvest Border Dies.  After cutting out the corn I used Distress inks to sponge the color.  The Sam Scarecrow Digital stamp was printed and colored with Copic Markers.  I created the sentiment on my computer.

Lesley Croghan (off this month)
Broni Holcombe (off this month)

My cards are created on white card bases.  I found two different snowflake patterned papers in my stash and adhered them to the top of my base.  The white cover panel is created using the
MFT Bold Stripes die.  I added a white stitched circle next.

The MFT Merry Christmas Circle die was used to cut out the sentiment.  The little snowmen are from Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow stamp set.  I colored them with Copic Markers and added a white snow drift to complete the circle.  I stamped a few white snowflakes on the circle.  Sparkling clear sequins and Wink of Stella was added to complete my cards.

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

The challenge will end on Friday Oct. 5th @ 6pm EST.

My card is created on a white card base  The black layer was run through my Big Shot with the SugarPea Designs Arrow Plate Cover Die.  It is hard to see in the pictures, but it adds so much dimension to my card.  The white rectangle was embossed with an embossing folder and I used a cropper to round two of the edges to match the sketch.  The tepee and the  dreamcatcher border was stamped using the Honey Bee Stamps My Tribe.  I stamped with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed both items with gold embossing powder.   The sentiment is from the same set and is also heat embossed with gold.  I cut the sentiment in small rectangles and adhered them with dimensionals.  I love the way this turned out!

Every Day With You Is A Treat PP411

September 23, 2018

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at  The Paper Players!

The amazing Jaydee is our hostess this week and she has a fabulous sketch for all of us!  This is so versatile and I had a lot of ideas.  I will definitely use this sketch over and over!

My card is created on a black card base.  The top layer was created by sponging Hickory Smoke and Blueprint Sketch Distress inks on a piece of watercolored paper.  I trimmed it to create the two panels and adhered it to the base.  The moon is created using  Distress ink and I added a little Hickory Smoke on the edges to make it look spooky.  The Frankenstein is from MFT Frightful Friends and cut out with the matching dies.  I colored him with Copic Markers, added Wink of Stella and goggly eyes. The bats are from the same stamp set.  The graves were stamped in black using the Grave Situation stamp set by MFT.  I cut them out with matching dies and colored them with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from the BB Frightfully Sweet stamp set by MFT.

LOVE Paper Players 410

September 16, 2018

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

I am the hostess this week and I have a fun Clean and Simple Challenge for all of you!  Fall is a great time for all types of sports, so use your imagination and show us your favorite sport, colors or team.  We can't wait to see your creations!  Just remember--it is Clean and Simple week.

What do we mean by Clean and Simple:
  • Minimal layers and embellishments
  • Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
  • Simple and uncluttered

I am a huge Indiana University and UGA fan, but I decided to go with my favorite sport to play!  I LOVE tennis!  I didn't start playing until I retired from teaching, so my game leaves a lot to be desired, but I have FUN and that is what it is all about!  I play with a great group of ladies and we play in the ALTA league (Atlanta Lawn and Tennis Association) in the fall and spring.  Tennis is huge in the ATL, so am am happy that I can participate.

My card is created on a 5 x 5 square white base.  I cut the LOVE letters out using Stampin' Up! Large Letter Dies on polka dot DSP  from my stash.  Polka Dots are another favorite of mine. I had a scrap of paper that looked like a net, so I used it to ground my tennis players.   Your Next Stamp Sports Fanatics Two and the matching dies were used for my little players.  I colored them with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella and goggly eyes for fun!  I added a few enamel dots to complete my card.  I thought it looked like my balls flying everywhere!  LOL!

Here is sketch #531:

My card is created on a black card base.  I found this fabulous piece of DSP in my Halloween stash for the background.  I love the purple with the cobweb.  The rectangle was blended with Hickory Smoke and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks.  The little witch is from Art Impressions.  The set is called Girls Night Out.  I stamped her with Memento black ink and colored her with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from the same set.  I added a few stars to complete the card.  She is ready for a fun night on the town!
