Warm Wishes--Curtain Call Challenge

November 1, 2015

I was so excited when I saw this week's challenge at The Curtain Call!  I just love plaids and they are so "in style" this season.

I just received the Simon Says-Jumbo Stripes Stamp Set and couldn't wait to play with it.  I just love the way the background I created turned out.  I used Real Red, Black and Crushed Curry inks to create my plaid.  Thanks to the Misti, I was able to do repeated stamping to get the stripes dark.  I can't wait to keep playing with these stripes.  Oh the possibilities!!!!!  It was so fun to see the pattern coming together.

I cut a black frame using my SugarPea Designs-Zig Zag Stitched Circle Dies.  Then, I cut a Crushed Curry circle with the same dies and embossed it with the argyle embossing folder from Stampin' Up!. The ice skates were stamped in Momento Black ink on white card stock.  I fussy cut them and attached them with dimensionals and added a Baker's Twine Bow.  The sentiment was stamped in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  A crushed Curry rectangle was placed behind the white rectangle.  Black enamel dots were added to finish my card.

Warm Wishes--CASE-ing Christmas #29

September 5, 2015

It is time for a new challenge at CASE-ing Christmas!  We loved seeing all of your entries last month and hope you will play along with us in September.

This month we will be CASE-ing the lovely card by Mynn.  Don't you just love that little snowman and all the bling?

Here is the card I created CASE-ing Mynn's card.

My base card is white.  (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  The next layer is silver glimmer paper. (5 1/4 X 4).  The next layer is white paper that I used Distress ink and a blending tool to make a blue background.  I stamped blue snowflakes on the sky and then restamped with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder.  I cut three hillsides with Lawn Fawn dies and inked the edges. They were attached to the front of the card with foam tape for dimension.

I used a retired stamp set from Stampin' Up! called "Snow Day to make my snowman.  I stamped him with the blue distress ink and added a little Copic marker on the edges to make him pop.  I stamped the buttons, face, arms and hat and fussy cut all of the images.  The sentiment was stamped on his lower section with black versa fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Glossy Accents were added to his hat, nose, mouth and buttons for shine and fun.  I also added sequins from Pretty Pink posh in the middle of each snowflake.
