Just A Note Inspired By #87

August 29, 2019

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Inspired By

I LOVE typewriters!  I even own a vintage one!  I learned to type in typing class and I am so thankful for that skill.  This turquoise one makes me SMILE!  What inspires you about this photo?  Is it the typewriter, the pencils, the letters, the theme or the colors?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a panel of black and a piece of retro paper to the base.  I also added a strip of contrasting paper on the right side.  A strip of turquoise card stock embossed with typewriter keys was adhered next.  The typewriter is stamped in black using the BoBunny stamp Just My Type.   A very easy card to make, but has a great retro feeling to make someone smile!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.  We sure hope you will play along with us this week!

Merry Christmas Keeping Christmas

August 25, 2019

This year is flying by and believe it or not, Christmas is 4 months away!

It's time for this month's installment of the Keeping Christmas Inspriration Blog Hop!  The Challenge Design Team is sharing Christmas creations on the 25th of each month!

The whole idea is to have some Christmas cards and projects in your stash ready to go for December 2019!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Lesley Croghan (off this month)
    Julee Tilman

I created three different cards using the same stamp set and dies.  They were very quick to make and I love the way they turned out.  If you need a lot of cards and are limited on time this is a great way to make a lot of cards for your stash.

The cards are created on different colors of card stock to match the plaids.  I dug through my stash and pulled out different ones that I liked.  The main panel is stamped using the Uniko Block Christmas Party stamp.  I trimmed the plaid and the sentiment with MFT Elegant Rectangle Dies.  I mounted the main panel with Scotch mounting tape to give it dimension.  Easy Peasy!

Which on is your favorite?

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

The Lovely Laurie is our hostess this week and she has an amazing sketch for all of us!  I love this layered sketch and I had so many ideas for ways to use it! It is definitely a keeper!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a panel of dark brown and plaid for my background.  The circles were cut using circle dies from coordinating papers.  The sweet little girl is from the Pure Innocence My Favorite Things collection.  It is called Jumping with Joy!  I think this set is retired.  I colored her with Copic Markers and paper pieced her Fall outfit out of matching scraps of Fall paper.  The leaves are from the same stamp set and colored with Copics.  The wood grained rectangle anchors the sketch and the sentiment is stamped on it using the same stamp set.

Witching You a Happy Halloween FMS200

August 18, 2019

I loved the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week!  They are celebrating their 400th sketch and this week's sketch is from the archives #200!  Such a fun way to celebrate this amazing milestone!  Congratulations to all the DT members!

I had so much fun creating this card.  I started with a white card base.  I created a Distress Oxide ink background and cut it with a die from Craftin Desert Divas.  I adhered it to a purple and black panel.  The grass was cut using the MFT Tucked in Turf Vertical Die using black.  The houses and witch are from MFT Best Witches.  I colored all the images with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  The sentiment is embossed in white using the same stamp set.

Wishing You a Speedy Recovery Paper Players #455

August 18, 2019

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The fabulous Joanne is our hostess this week.  She has a fantastic Clean and Simple Challenge for all of us!  The theme is "ANY Cards for Kids"!  How fun is that!   We all have a special child that would love to receive happy mail!   Your card can be for any occasion - birthday, back to school, encouragement, congratulations, get well soon - but it must be for a child and it must be in the 'clean and simple' style.  By Clean and Simple, we mean cards that meet the following criteria:

Minimal layers and embellishments
Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
Simple and uncluttered

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut a white panel with a stitched rectangle die.  I stamped the little car from Craftin' Desert Diva's Classic Car stamp set.  Unfortunately, this shop is closing at the end of the month.  I colored the car with Copic Markers and added some Wink of Stella for shine.  The strip is cut using a SugarPea Designs Air-Mail Die.

I Love You More Than Ice Cream Inspired By Challenge #85

August 15, 2019

It's Thursday and time for a new inspiration photo at
Inspired By !

We are in the dog days of summer in Atlanta.  Heat index in the 100's all week.  I love summer, but it is even too hot for me!  Ice cream makes everything better and this trio of blueberry treats looks amazing!  I bet one of these would make you feel cooler!

How are you inspired by this photo? colors? ice cream? blueberries? trio? bowls?   We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used the smooshing method to create the water colored background with Distress Oxide Inks.  The Ice Cream cones are stamped using a retired stamp set from Clearly Besotted called Super Cool.  I added a few clear sequins to complete my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.  We sure hope you will play along with us this week!
