To The Best Mother Paper Players PP488

April 26, 2020

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week and she has a fantastic sketch for all of us!  WOW!  So many possibilities!  We can't wait to see what you create!

I wanted to go ahead and make my Mommy's Mother's Day card in order to get it mailed in time.  My Mom loves green and hummingbirds.  I was looking through all my stamps and found this stamp from Simon Says Stamps that had never been inked.  It is called Take Heart.  I do believe it was a free set because it is very small in size.  I could not find it on their site or on Pinterest.  I started with a white card base and added a Kraft panel.  Next, I took Old Olive and embossed it with a butterfly embossing folder.  Then, I repeated the Kraft panel and added a white panel for the top layer.  I stamped the sentiment in black.  I stamped the cup full of flowers in black ink.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  I added lots of Wink of Stella for shine.  The little hummingbird was stamped, colored and fussy cut.  I wanted it to be feeding off the flowers.  A few purple enamel dots and some twine completed my card.  I know this will make my Mom smile!

There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Kelly Lunceford (Creator)

Vicki Finger (off this month)

My card is created on a green card base.  The top layer is Very Vanilla.  I used a circle die to cut the circle in this layer.  I backed it with a red/vanilla striped paper that I found in my stash.  The Santa is from a pack of Vintage Santas that I got a year ago at Hobby Lobby.  I love these Santas because they remind me of the Coke Santas from when I was a child.  The fa la la die is from Simon Says Stamps Fa La La Making Spirits Bright Set.  I cut the back in green and the top layer in red.  The sentiment is from the same set and stamped in black.  I added a few red enamel dots to complete my card.  This was so simple and easy to make.  I didn't have time to make a set, but I am going to make several of these.  They are certain to make someone smile!

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.
ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

And I Think To Myself--- Paper Players Challenge PP486

April 12, 2020

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely Jaydee is our hostess this week and she has a very beautiful color palette for all of us!  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is creating using a Polka Dot cover plate.  I used So Saffron for the panel on top of the white base.  Then, I cut the polka dots in gray.  I added a 3" strip of Seaside Spray on top.  I embossed it with a striped embossing folder.   I cut a 2" strip of gray to add on top of that.  The sunburst was cut in So Saffron and I stamped the sentiment from Impression Obsession Serendipity Stamps And I Think on a white circle.  This is one of my favorite songs and I play it every time I walk.  It certainly makes my heart happy to hear the words to this beautiful song.  I added a yellow button and white twine to complete my card.

The Sunday Stamps challenge is a sketch challenge by Annette.  This sketch is so versatile!  I found it was perfect to combine these two challenges this week. It doesn't happen very often!
