Ho! Ho! Ho! The Paper Players Challenge

December 3, 2023

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.

The amazing Jaydee is our hostess this week and she has such a timely Theme Challenge for all of us!  It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.  Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create.

If you follow me, you know I love red.  So, I decided to design my card with all red.  I love the way it turned out.  I found the candy cane paper in my stash and the back side was the stripe.  I added a Real Red layer first and then added the DSP.  The red border was cut with a zig zag die.  The Santa is from an old Tim Holtz set called Santa Christmas.  I have had this set for years.  I added the Ho Ho Ho sentiment in red ink.  It is from the same stamp set.  I also added red enamel dots.  I sponged red ink around the white panel, too.

It's Sunday and time for new challenges at The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps

The Amazing Ann is the hostess at The Paper Players this week.  Her sketch challenge is so perfect for any type of card.  Endless possibilites with this one!

I dug through my stash of embossing folders and found this fabulous Nordic folder to emboss my green background.  I used a piece of kraft paper that was ridged when I bought it for the diagonal panel.  It added so much texture to the cozy feeling I was trying to create. The tree is from Altenew Night Before Christmas Stamp Set.  I added a red layer behind this panel and popped it up with dimensionals.  The little package was stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  I cut a kraft circle to put behind it.  A few yellow stars were added to complete my card.

Have A Cool Christmas The Paper Players Challenge PP667

November 18, 2023

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.

The lovely LeAnne is our hostess this week and she has a very fun challenge for all of us!  It is a Clean and Simple Challenge and it is all about "TAGS".  You can place a tag on your card or make a tag for a gift.  Have fun and get creative!  Just remember to keep it CAS.

I will admit, I made a card that I loved and then I realized at the last minute that this was Clean and Simple week.  Well, anyone that follows me knows I love layers and embellishments, so I decided to go with this snowflake.  My card base is white and I added a layer cut with with a fun die for some detail.  The snow flakes are from an old Stampin Up set called Snow Flurries.  I have saved these dies for years and still pull them out every year.  I used white glitter paper for the snowflakes.  I added the tag using a piece of red and white polka dot paper.  I wasn't thrilled with the bow, but I tried five different ones and decided this added just enough contrast to complete the card.  The sentiment is stamped in black ink.  I really wanted to add more bling, but I reined it in for LeAnne.  LOL!
