It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year FMS404

Sept. 27, 2019

I am playing along with Amy's fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  What a fun sketch that can be used for any type of card.

My card can be for Fall or Winter.  Who doesn't love plaid and old fashioned thermos bottles filled with coffee or hot chocolate?  My card is created using the Papertrey Inks Cozy Christmas stamps.  I used stitched rectangle dies for the background and the Penny Black Antique Frame Dies for the background for my thermos bottles and cup.  I stamped them in red and green and added a khaki cup.  A few enamel dots were added for fun.  Of course I added Wink of Stella for shine, too!

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.

You're Brew-tiful Inspired By 91

Sept. 26, 2019

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Inspired By.

I love tailgate parties!  This photo makes me smile!  Those old thermos bottles are so fun to me!  What inspires you about this photo?  Is it the plaids the food, the thermos bottles, the colors, the theme?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a Kraft card base and I added some black between the layers for the background.  I found this piece of thermos bottle paper in my stash.  I was thrilled because it was just perfect for my card.  I added a rectangle of black and white plaid and  green plaid for my banner.  The little girl is from MFT Pure Innocence Grande Sized Love.  I colored her with Copic Markers and paper pieced her dress.  I cut her out with the matching dies.  I created the background with Distress Inks and used a grass border die from Lawn Fawn for the grass.  The sentiment is from the MFT stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.  We sure hope you will play along with us this week!

I absolutely LOVE the Honey Bee Stamps Threshold Dies.  I cut the two doors out of 3 shades of red and 3 shades of turquoise card stock.  I love the dimension this gives the card.  The wreath is cut in green and Kraft paper from the same dies.  The welcome is cut in gold foil and red card stock.

The little snowmen and gifts are from Honey Bee Stamps Snow Buddies stamp set.  I colored them with Copic Markers and cut them out with the matching dies.  Wink of Stella was added for shine and I also added some detail with a white gel pen.  Glossy Accents is applied to the carrot noses.  I added the birds in the wreath from the same stamp set.

Which one is your favorite?

Love You Inspired By 90

Sept. 19, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at  Inspired By!

L is for?   What inspires you about this photo?  Is it the black letter, the boards, the plant, the theme, the bag or the colors?  We can't wait to see what you create?

I had fun creating this card.  I used a piece of wood grained paper and used the "Love You" die from MFT to cut out the negative space .  I cut it again with black card stock and filled in the negative space. The cactus and planter are from SugarPea Designs Stuck on You stamp set.  I stamped the pot in gray and the cactus in different shades of green.  I cut all the pieces out with the matching dies.

Thinking of You Paper Players PP459

Sept. 15, 2019

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The marvelous Anne Marie is our hostess and she has a fantastic CAS challenge for all of us!

Marvelous Metallics….incorporate any metallic (silver/gold/copper/rose gold/even
colored foil) element on your project.

By Clean and Simple, we mean cards that meet the following criteria:
Minimal layers and embellishments
Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
Simple and uncluttered

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a gold foil and a white layer that I cut  with stitched rectangle dies.  The leaf is from Neat and Tangled.  I used the Oak Leaf Die to cut the outline in gold foil.
I created background using distress oxide ink on a piece of water color paper.  I then cut the other leaf die in this set leaving all the little pieces in tact to add to the gold center.  I love the way it turned out.  I added a sentiment in black to complete my card.

 Challenge Rules: Paper Players Challenge

1.  Create a NEW paper, or digital, project.
2.  Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
3.  Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.

Merriest Christmas Sketch Saturday #581

Sept. 14, 2019

Happy Saturday Sketchers!
We have one of our favorite super fun sponsors this week, Star Stampz!

The prize this week:
3 digis of the winner's choice from the Star Stampz store!.

Here is sketch #581:

My card is created on a white card base.  I added some Christmas paper from my stash for all the elements in the sketch.  I did take the liberty of moving my blue rectangle a bit to the right to make the image stand out.  This sweet little shopper is from My Favorite Things Pure Innocence collection.  I am a HUGE fan of these images.  Holiday Cheer is the name of the set and she has a matching die.  I colored her, the packages and shopping bags with Copic Markers and then paper pieced her clothes.  I used Snow Marker on the fur and her mittens for texture.  She makes me smile!  Hope she makes you smile, too!

If the Hats Fits FMS 402

Sept 13, 2019

I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!

My friend Karren designed the sketch for this week.
It was perfect for my idea.

I love Halloween and these Witch Hats make me smile!

I used the Simon Says Stamp If the Hat Fits for my card.  I stamped the hats in black ink and colored them with Copic Markers.  I added Wink of Stella for shine and also added some detail with a white gel pin.  I stenciled the brooms with a stencil Witch Brooms from Carta Bella.  I used Fossilized Amber and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks.  I added two strips of black card stock to frame the brooms.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Leave a comment and let me know which hat you would wear.

Acorn Sisters Inspired By #89

Sept. 12, 2019

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

What inspires you about this photo?  Is it the theme, the acorn, the leaf, the colors, the rain?  We can't wait to see what you create!

I knew just what stamp I wanted to use when I saw this inspiration photo.  The stamp set is from Honey Bee Stamps.  It is called Acorn Sisters.  I used several patterned papers for the background.  I colored the girls with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  I added a ribbon around the bottom of the card to complete it.  I decided it didn't need a sentiment.  I can write a personal message inside.  Sometimes it is nice to have a card on hand that isn't for a specific occasion.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.  We sure hope you will play along with us this week!

Happy Birthday With Love PP458

Sept. 8, 2019

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The amazingly talented Ann is our hostess this week!  She has a beautiful color challenge for all of us!  Don't you just love these rich fall colors?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a Merry Merlot card base.  The next layer is cut with a stitched die in Pretty Peacock.  I created a smooched watercolored panel using several shades of blue Distress Oxide Inks.  The bottles are stamped in Cajun Craze using the   Bottled Up stamp set from The Greetery.  I cut them out with the matching dies.  The daisies are from Clearly Besotted "Celebrating You".  I used the matching dies to cut them out.  I colored the daisies with Copic Markers.  The centers of the daisies are stamped with Cajun Craze.  I must admit, I had trouble using this color combo, but now I absolutely love it!  Thank you Ann, for making me step out of the box.
