Life Is Beautiful Sketch Saturday #561

April 27, 2019

Good Morning Everyone...
We have a great sponsor this week:

Dr. Digi has generously offered 2 digital stamps of the winner's choice!

Here is sketch #561

My card is created on a white card base.  I bought a new paper pack Spring Market from Carta Bella.  All of the papers are in this pack plus the sticker.  This was the easiest card!  No stamping involved.  I added the green and white gingham check for the background.  I cut the floral paper for the diagonal strip.  I cut out three different flowers and mounted them on kraft paper.  The sticker was added for the sentiment.  That's it!  So simple!

Age is Merely The Number----Inspired By #59

April 25, 2019

It's time for another fun challenge at Inspired By.

What inspires you about this photo?   Is it the colors, numbers, metal, baskets, theme?  We can't wait to see what you create!

The first thing that caught my eye in the inspiration photo was the numbers.  I looked through my stash and found this fabulous piece of paper with numbers.  Win-win, it was even the right color combo.  The chalkboard inspired my sentiment.  I found this stamp in my birthday greetings--sorry, not sure where it is from.  I used the Penny Black Antique Frame Dies to cut out the black card stock.  I embossed the age sentiment with white embossing powder.

I added three wood grained rectangles behind the sentiment.  A strip of black card stock was added behind the wood grained rectangles.  I also added the wood grained paper to the envelope flap.

My card is created on a turquoise card base.  I used the MFT Christmas Background stamp set to create the next layer.  I used red ink on the white card stock and then trimmed the panel with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die.  I cut a turquoise panel with the same die set.  The little Santa balloons are from Clearly Besotted Best Christmas.  I colored them with Copic Markers and cut them out with the matching dies.  I add Wink of Stella for shine.  I stamped the balloon string in black.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

This beauty bloomed in my yard this week.  It is just the right color for this week's color combo!  I love the white azaleas that are blooming everywhere in Atlanta.

Swinging By With a "Hi" PP438

April 21, 2019

Happy Easter and/or Passover to all that celebrate!

Addison, Victoria and Robert came to visit me during their Spring Break.  We had so much fun dying eggs.  It is always so exciting to see the expressions on their faces!  I hadn't done this in years, and I think I had as much fun as they did!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  The amazing Ann Marie is our hostess this week and she has a fabulous Clean and Simple challenge for all of us.  I love "Paper Piecing" so, I found this challenge extra fun!

REMEMBER THIS IS CLEAN AND SIMPLE WEEK - THESE ARE THE RULES WE POST EVERY CAS CHALLENGE

What do we mean by Clean and Simple?
  • Minimal layers and embellishments
  • Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
  • Simple and uncluttered

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut the top layer with watercolor paper.  I trimmed it with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die.  I smooshed Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks to create the background.  I splattered some water on it after it dried to create this look.  The little girl is from MFT Pure Innocence Start Each Day With A Whee.  I colored her with Copic Markers.  I paper pieced her shirt and shorts with scraps I found in my stash.  I cut her out using the matching dies.  I stamped the sentiment in black.  It is from the same stamp set.  I still love to swing so, this card makes me smile!

I Love Reading! Inspired By #68

April 18, 2019

It's time for another fun challenge at Inspired By.

What inspires you about this photo?   Is it the colors, globes, books, plants???  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a Kraft card base.  I was inspired by the globes in the photo and found some map paper in my stash and used it at the top of my card.  I added a strip of wood grained paper for the bottom of my card.  I used the MFT BB Our Story set to create the items in my card.  I colored them with Copic Markers.  I paper pieced the chair.  All of the pieces were cut out using the matching dies.   The sentiment is from Your Next Stamp  Bookworms Rule! stamp set.  I added a pink enamel heart in the center.  Wink of Stella was added to most of the items for shine.   Since the theme is Earth Day, I printed this on the title of her book.   I think she is enjoying this book, don't you?

I Love You Rain or Shine PP437

April 14, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.  The amazing Ann is our hostesses this week and she has a beautiful trio of colors for us to work with.  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a Calypso Coral card base.  I added a layer of Balmy Blue cut with a scalloped die.  I cut a layer of white card stock with a stitched rectangle die on the top.  I stenciled raindrops on the white panel.  The little ducks are stamped in black and colored with Copic Markers.   I used the Neat and Tangled Eggstra Special stamp set for the ducks.  The umbrella is paper pieced using the Sunny Studios Rain of Shine stamp set.  The puddles are stamped in Balmy Blue using the same set.

The sentiment is stamped in black using the MFT BB Rain or Shine stamp set.  I added the same paper on the envelope that I used on the umbrella.  I completed the inside using the same layers as on the front of the card and added a little duck inside for fun.
