Forever--The Challenge #75

May 30, 2016

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY if you live in the U.S.A!  I hope you will take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day!  I am thankful for all the men and women that gave their lives for our great country!  We have so much to be grateful for!

It's Monday and time for a new challenge at  The Challenge!

It's wild card week and we have a fantastic sketch challenge for you!

This sketch is so fabulous!  I can think of so many ideas!  We can't wait to see what you create!

A few rules to keep things fun and fair!
1. Use the challenge to create a card.
2. Please add the challenge graphic to your blog post (copy and paste).
3. Have fun and comment on the submissions of others.
4. Anything that is offensive to myself or to my viewers will be removed.
5. Please only link to 3 other challenges plus our challenge for a total of 4 challenges.
6. Have fun!

My dear friends are celebrating their 50th Wedding anniversary this week.  I knew just what I wanted to make.

I had a very difficult time trying to get a picture of my card.  Whenever I use gold foil, it creates a reflection in every picture.  I am sorry.

I used a paper pack by My Mind's Eye "Fancy That" for the pink and gold papers.
I cut the large diamond from gold foil using the My Favorite Things-Diamonds die  and the "forever" was cut using the Reverse Confetti Lovely Words die.  I also cut them from dark brown card stock to mount behind each one for contrast.  I added two gold foil hearts.

Thank you very much for stopping by my blog today!  I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment!

Be sure to stop by The Challenge to see all fabulous projects by the Design Team!

Just For You--PP 297 and FMS238

May 29, 2016

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY weekend!  I hope we all stop and remember the sacrifices made by so many for all of us to enjoy freedom in the United States!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

My dear friend JoAnne, from across the pond is the hostess this week.  She has a FUN Tic-Tac-Toe board for us to play along with.  There are so many possibilities and we can't wait to see what you create.

I am also playing along with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!  I love this challenge and rarely get to join them.  I am so happy it worked out this week to combine my card for both challenges.

My card is created on a white card base.  The Large Polka Dot embossing folder was used on a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock.   I love this color!  It is a retired color from Stampin' Up! that I hoarded.  I thought it was perfect for my background.  I used the Clearly Besotted Super Cool stamp set and Dies to create the ice cream cones.  I stamped the cone in Baked Brown Sugar and the ice cream in Lucky Limeade and Real Red.  The sentiment was stamped in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I also used a circle die to cut a Real Red circle and embossed it with the Decorative Dots embossing folder by Stampin' Up!

Wink of Stella was added to the ice cream for sparkle and shine.  White enamel dots were added for fun.  My card uses the diagonal on the board--embossing, die cuts and birthday!

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

I Dig You--PP296 and SSC127

May 22, 2016

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps!  I have been on these two teams for quite a while and never had a chance to make one card that meets both challenge requirements.  It came at the perfect time because we are in the middle of moving and I had to search to even find tape to make my card!  LOL!  I have boxes and boxes everywhere, so that was the REAL CHALLENGE!!!!

The lovely Laurie is our hostess at The Paper Players this week and she has a fabulous sketch challenge for us!  It is such a versatile sketch! Sunday Stamps  requires you to use a minimum of three colors and a neutral.  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a piece of black and white paper that I found in my stash and the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Die to cut it.  I thought it looked like a road.  The Keep On Trucking stamp set and matching Die from Your Next Stamp were used to create the backhoe.  I stamped it on Neenah Solar White and colored it with Copic Markers.  I added Glossy Accents to the windows.  The Zig Zag Stitched Circle Die was used to cut the circle.  Gathered Twigs and Stormy Sky Distress inks were used to sponge the background.  A stitched flag from My Favorite Things was used to cut the banner and the sentiment was stamped with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Black enamel dots were added for fun.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!

My card was created using the Seaside Wishes Stamp Set by SugarPea Designs.
The little girl and the sandcastle were stamped on Neenah Solar White paper and colored with Copic Markers.  The Stitched Flags Die was used to cut the flag.  I stamped the sentiment from this set with Black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Wink of Stella was added for shine and a white gel pen was used for her white lace and freckles.

My card is created on a white card base.  The next two layers bring in the green and pink in the inspiration photo.  I stamped the background on the top white layer using the stamp set Butterfly Basics from Stampin' Up!  The leaves are from the same stamp set.  The lily is stamped in two shades of pink using the Layered Lily stamp set by Altenew.  The matching die is used to cut it out. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  It is stamped in Mocha Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  A few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh are added  for embellishment.  Wink of Stella is added to the lily for more shine.
