I Just Love You -----PP426 and SSC 197

January, 27, 2019

It's Sunday and time for new challenges at The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps!  I am excited that I could combine these two challenges this week!

The fabulous PP sketch is by our talented hostess Jaydee!  The  beautiful SSC color combo made me smile!  I love these vibrant hues!   Oh, there are endless possibilities with both of these challenges.  We sure hope you will play along!

Use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice.

My card is created on a white care base.  I made a lot of alcohol panels one day and decided to use one on today's card.  I used Yupo paper and several different inks.  The gold shimmer heart is cut using a die from Cherry Lynn Dies --Two of Hearts.  I stamped the sentiment from MFT Pure Innocence I Just Heart You stamp set in Versa Fine and heat embossed it in gold embossing powder.  I added a few sequins for shine.

I had a strip left over from the main panel and added it to the inside of the card.  I added a sentiment from the MFT Sweet Nothings stamp set to complete the inside of my card.

LOVE YOU SIP Challenge #183

January 25, 2019

Today I am playing along with the Stamp, Ink Paper Challenge!  My goal this year is to get back to playing along with more challenges.  So, here we go!

I thought my alcohol ink background looked like the inspiration photo!  I love playing with alcohol inks and no two backgrounds are ever the same.  I used Yupo paper with the  alcohol inks to create this background.  I added some gold foil for shimmer and shine.

T

The LOVE YOU die is from My Favorite Things. I cut the main panel with the die then cut it again on gold shimmer paper.  I filled in the negative space with the gold letters!

There was a little strip of the main panel left over so, I used it on the inside.  I stamped a sentiment from MFT Lovable Clear Stamps  in Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I lined the envelope with pink and white polka dots.  This was a simple card to create and I LOVE how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

May Your Chrismas Be Dashing Keeping Christmas

January 25, 2019

I am honored to be a part of the Keeping Christmas Inspiration Blog Hop.

It's time for this month's installment of Keeping Christmas with The Challenge Design Team!  We will be sharing Christmas creations on the 25th of each month!!!

The whole idea is to have some Christmas cards and projects in our stash ready to go for December 2019!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

Lesley Croghan (off this month)

My cards are created on a Kraft card base.  (4 1/4 X 5 1/2)  I used a retired MFT Blueprints die set for the scalloped border and the stitched rectangles on the Christmas paper.  I used some scraps from my box for both cards.  The circles are cut using SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Circle Dies.  I cut one in black and one in white.  I sponged blue Distress ink on the white circle.  I cut a tag using Very Vanilla card stock.  I sponged the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink and added a ribbon from my stash.  The reindeer are stamped in Memento black ink using the MFT Santa and Friends
stamp set and I colored them with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella on the blanket and nose.  I fussy cut the reindeer.  I will say those antlers were a not fun to cut around!  LOL!  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  A couple black enamel dots were added on the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

Be Strong--SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge Jan 2019

January 24, 2019

I am playing along with the fabulous SugarPea Designs Challenge.  Love this company and all their great stamps!

The colors are so soothing in this challenge. I knew they were perfect for the card I wanted to create.  I made this for a dear friend that is battling cancer and loves the beach as much as I do.

I used the  SugarPea Designs Seaside Wishes stamp set.  I stamped her in Memento black ink and cloroed her with Copic Markers.  I added Wink of Stella on the shells, her hair, and in the sand for shine. Glossy Accents was added on the little heart.  I fussy cut the image.  I sponged a blue background with Distress inks and cut the white rectangle with SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I used a scalloped die in my stash for the Sky Blue background.  The strips were cut in dark gray, light gray and kraft card stocks.  I added a few clear sequins to complete my card.

Thanks of stopping by my blog today!  I hope my card made you smile!

You're Kind Of A Big Deal Inspired By 55

January 22, 2019

I am playing along with the Inspired By Challenge today.  I just love the plaid in this inspiration photo.

I just purchased this fabulous Plaid stencil from Newton's Nook.  I created the plaid using Distress inks ( Black Soot and Gathered Twigs).

The base card is Kraft card stock.  The black and Kraft circles are cut using Sugar Pea Designs Zig Zag Circle Dies.   The Sugarpea Designs  Stay Strong stamp set was used for the muscle man and the sentiment.  I colored him with Copic Markers and cut him out with the matching Die.

A few enamel dots and some Wink of Stella was added for shine.

I stenciled the envelope flap and the  used a left over strip to complete the inside of my card.

I made this for my son for his birthday.  I hope it makes him smile!

Shine On FMS371

January 21, 2019

WOW!  It is cold in the ATL!  So, I found a little time to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches  challenge!  Love the sketch by Jen M. and it is one that can be used so often.

I love the backgrounds you can create with alcholo inks.  So, I pulled out a few fun reds and pinks and created this background on Yupo paper.  I added a few gold foils on it.  I stamped the sentiment in black Staz On on the gold foil strip.  The gem is created using a die in my stash.  I have to search to find out where it comes from.  Sorry!

My photos don't really do the alcohol ink background justice.  It is so vibrant and bold.  I love it.   This is the inside of my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Stay warm!

There's Snow One Like You! PP425

January 20, 2019

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  I am the hostess this week and I have a fun Clean and Simple Challenge for all of you! Who knew that there would be so many snow storms around the country today!  We don't have any snow in Atlanta, but my family in Indiana has a lot!

Have fun, but remember this is a CAS week, so please remember:

  • Minimal layers and embellishments
  • Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
  • Simple and uncluttered

I love square cards, so I cut my card 5 X 5.  I stamped the little angel bird and his shadow using the Honey Bee stamps Snow Birds.  I colored him with Copic Markers.  I mask off the bird, stamped on the sentiment in black ink  and then I embossed the top with a polka dot stencil using embossing paste.  I stamped the little bird on the envelope, too!  I am not a huge fan of snow, but I do like to build snowmen or make snow angels.  If you have snow, enjoy it!

Good Morning Everyone...

Here is sketch #547:

My card is created on a square card base. (5 X 5)  I found these papers in my Valentine stash and mixed them to create the panels for the sketch.  The white rectangle was embossed with a heart folder.  The Pure Innocence Stamp is from MFT -So Much Love.  I stamped her in Memento Black ink and colored her with Copic Markers.  I paper pieced her dress.  I added Glossy Accents to her shoes and the little heart in her hands.   The heart and arrow are from MFT .  The sentiment is from the same set and heat embossed with white powder.  I love the way this turned out.  It makes me smile!

I am trying to finish the inside of my cards and make a matching envelope.  That way they are almost ready for the mail.

Smile SSC196 and PP424

January 13, 2019

It's Sunday and time for new challenges at The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps!

The fabulous SS sketch is by Annette and the beautiful PP color combo is chosen by our hostess,  Anne Marie!  Oh, there are endless possibilities with both of these challenges.  We sure hope you will play along!

My card is created on a white card base.  I sponged Daffodil Delight and Grapefruit Grove inks on a white panel.  I used a sunburst embossing folder to create a huge sunshine.  The white rectangle strip was stenciled using Pool Party ink and a sponge.  I backed the sentiment panel with Pool Party and used the Casual Friday Smile stamp set.   I used Grapefruit Grove to stamp the word smile and black ink for the rest of the sentiment.  I added a few enamel dots to complete the card.  I am sending this to a friend that is battling cancer.  I hope it makes her smile!  It was made with love!

LOVE FMS 370

January 12, 2019

It is chilly here today, so I had time to make a card for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week's sketch is courtesy of the talented Jen Timko.  I have always loved their challenges and just never find a lot of time to play.  So happy to share my card today!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a retired MFT Blueprints die set to cut the red scalloped piece and the black and white X's.  I found this paper in my Valentine stash.  The LOVE is cut in white and red using the Cherry Lynn Bohemian Word
die.  I cut the little candy conversation hearts out of white, red and pink paper using the Cherry Lynn Sweetheart Candy Dies.  Such an easy card to put together!

A big thank you for stopping by my blog today!

Friends Warm My Heart PP423

January 6, 2019

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!  So happy to be back   creating cards and blogging.  I enjoyed my time off with lots of family and friends over the holidays.
These are a few of my favorite moments.

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  It's our first challenge of 2019 and we hope you will play along.  We are so excited to have Wanda Cullen and Su Mohr join us as our new Guest Designers.  They are both so talented and we know you will enjoy their creations each week.

The amazing Ann is our hostess and she has a FUN theme challenge for all of us!  Anyone that knows or follows Ann is aware that she owns the most beautiful Boxers you have ever seen!  She is an animal lover and wants us to add an animal to our cards!  There are so many possibilities.  We can't wait to see your ideas!

I used a Crumb Cake card base for today's card.  My card is created using the items in the new Simon Says Stamp January Kit--Snow Much.  There are so many fun items in this kit.  I used the patterned  papers for all the papers in my card.  I stamped the little bird using Honey Bee Stamps Snow Birds.  I used the matching dies to cut him out.  I colored him with Copic Markers and paper pieced his scarf with one the plaids in the SSS kit.

The sentiment is stamped using the same set in Versa Fine black ink. I cut a fishtail banner and added dimensionals behind it.   I found this snowflake die in my stash.  I am sorry, I don't know where it is from.  I added three white snowflakes around the circles that were cut using the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag circle dies.  I added retired navy candy dots from SU on the sentiment banner and the center of the snowflakes.

In the New Year, I am going to try to finish the inside of my cards and make matching envelopes.  It is so much easier to get the cards in the mail if you do this.
