Pink Christmas Inspired By 100

Nov. 28, 2019

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  I hope your day is filled with family, friends, food and fun!  I love Thanksgiving and I have so much to be thankful for!  ENJOY!

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the pink, the Kraft,  the gifts, the tree, the polka dots?  SO many ways to go with this gorgeous inspiration photo.  We can't wait to see what you create!

I found this fabulous paper in my stash, so I trimmed it with a scalloped border and let it speak volumes.  The poinsettia is cut in pink paper using the MFT Poinsettia Dies.  I sponged the edges with a darker shade of pink for more dimension.  I added a few sparkly pink enamel dots to complete my card.  No sentiment needed on this one!

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Check out all the inspiration from the Design Team.  We sure hope you will play along with us this week!

Peace On Earth Krafty Chicks Challenge #483

Nov. 28, 2019

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my family and friends in the U.S.  I hope you have a fabulous day!  So much to be thankful for!  I have 20 coming for dinner, so I am busy in the kitchen this week.

This is my final week of Guest Designing for the
Krafty Chicks Challenge.  I have enjoyed working with this amazing team.  THANK YOU for the opportunity to be a part of your challenge!

As always, our challenges are Anything Goes, but we also have a little "twist" for those that want to play along.  This week's twist is MONOCHROME!  So grab a color (varying tones of that color are good too!) and have some fun!  We can't wait to see what you create.

Red is my favorite color, so I went with a red on red card.  I used a set of dies in my stash to create the background.  I added some Cherry Cobbler ink with a sponge to darken the edges.  My poinsettia is heat embossed in white on red paper. I added some darker ink in the center with a sponge.  The sentiment and pearls complete my card.

I have always loved this song, so I decided to make a couple of cards with the Favorite Things stamp set from Papertrey Inks.  I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on pink and turquoise card stock.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Brilliant Gifts Wafer Die to create the packages.  I cut it twice in Kraft paper and twice in white.  I added a piece of tape on the back of the Kraft ones so most of the pieces stayed in tact.  I only had to piece a few pieces back in the spaces.  I glued the white outline on  top of the Kraft cut outs.   I did add dimensional tape on the back to make it pop.  A few white enamel dots were added for fun.

Do you have a favorite?  I love non-tradional colors for Christmas.  You could make them in so many colors!  I may make a few more to add to my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

Celebrate the Magic of Christmas Inspired By Challenge 99

Nov. 21, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

I can not believe how fast this month is passing.  Each day brings us one day closer to Christmas.  Doesn't this photo make you want to start decorating?  I try to wait until Thanksgiving is over, but it is difficult!

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the ornaments, deer, snow, stripes, plaid, trio?  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a black layer and then I added a white scalloped layer.  The Christmas tree is from the Tree Trimming Trio Papertrey Inks stamp set.  The retro girl is from Hanging an Ornament stamp set and I paper pieced her skirt and colored her with Copic Markers.  I added a few pearls for her necklace.  The sentiment is from the same Papertry Inks set.  I added a piece of glimmer paper for the snow.

Ho Ho Ho Wine Tags Krafty Chicks Challenge 482

Nov, 21, 2019

I'm so happy to be back as a Guest Designer for the Krafty Chicks Challenge.  Such a fabulous team and so much inspiration!  Make sure you visit all the blogs and play along with us!

Our optional challenge twist this week is "Anything but a Card" - you do not have to use the twist, but we'd love it if you did. All challenges are Anything Goes otherwise.

I love to take wine as a hostess gift for Christmas celebrations.  So, I decided to make two wine tags to have on hand for the holidays.  I cut my tags 7" X 3" and scored at 2" for the top of the tag.  I punched a circle in the top of the tag using a 1 1/4" punch.  I added patterned paper on the front of the tags.  I cut four circles with dies and added them on top of the tag.  The Santa is from Stamps of Life Santa2stamp.  I paper pieced the front of the hat and colored the red with Copic Markers.  I added texture with a Marvy Snow Marker on the tip of his hat.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I Love You. You're Welcome. Inspired By 98

Nov. 14, 2019

It's time for a new challenge at Inspired By!

We are all so busy getting ready for the holidays.  I hope you will find time to play along with our inspiration photo.

How does this photo inspire you?  Is it the colors, the circles, the garland, the leaves, the berries, felt??  We can't wait to see what you create.

My card is created on a white card base.  I was inspired by the colors in the photo.  I added a piece of snowy patterned paper to the background.  I took several pictures, but could not get the blue to show up very well.  I cut this piece with a scalloped die.  I also cut a snow drift with the scalloped die and added Versa Mark and lots of glitter to make the ice.  The adorable little girl is from MFT Pure Innocence Sassy Skater stamp set.  I paper pieced her skirt and jacket.  I added polka dots with a white gel pen.  The sentiment is stamped in black.  It is from the same stamp set.  I added a few snowflake jewels I found in my stash.  Wink of Stella was added for shine, too.  Doesn't she look like she is having fun?  I have fond memories of skating on little ponds on the farm as a child.  I was never very good at it, but it was always fun!

Believe In The Magic of Christmas Krafty Chicks Challenge 481

Nov. 14, 2019

I'm so happy to be back as a Guest Designer for
the Krafty Chicks Challenge.  Such a fabulous team and so much inspiration!  Make sure you visit all the blogs!

Our optional challenge twist this week is "OMBRE" - you do not have to use the twist, but we'd love it if you did. All challenges are Anything Goes otherwise.

My card is created on a white card base.  I added a layer of Real Red on top of the base.  The background is created with an "ombre" ink pad Light to Red Royal  by Hero Arts.  I used the Penny Black Mosaic Pattern Background stamp.  I then added the pine branch using another "ombre" ink pad  Mint Julep to Emerald Green from Hero Arts.  It is from the stamp set Holiday Style.  The jingle bells are from the same set and I stamped them with three shades of grey ink.  SO, I ended up with 3 ombre elements on my card.  I added a piece of silver thread on each bell.  The sentiment is stamped in black and it is from the same stamp set as the pine branch and bells.
