Praying For You--PP368

October 29, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

Our lovely Jaydee is the hostess this week and she has a fabulous Tic-Tac-Toe board for all of us.  I love these boards because of all the possibilities.  Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create.

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card.  I decided to play on the diagonal silver/gold-die-cut/punch/ fall.  I created an alcohol ink background and then cut out the leaves using the Stampin' Up! Vintage Leaves dies.  My card base is white.  I cut a scalloped background from gold foil.  I splattered the white stitched layer with gold ink.  The leaves were added with dimensionals.  A few sequins were added for sparkle.  The gold sentiment is from  Simon Says Stamp "Praying for you".  The picture is not great with the shine--sorry!

October 28, 2017

It's Saturday and time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!  Hope you will join us this week!

Our sponsor this week is Oddball Art Co.  The prize is 3 digi stamps of your choice!  How fun is that?

I really like this sketch and will use it again!  Can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a square white base.  (5 X 5).  I used Bermuda Bay card stock for the background.  Then I cut four squares of red and white patterned paper for the sketch design.  I cut the frame and white circle using SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies.  The little elf is from SugarPea Designs Merry Makers stamp set and dies.  I colored him with Copic Markers.  I added Glossy Accents to the lights and Wink of Stella for shine.  A few red enamel dots were added for fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Hello Friends!  It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

I am the hostess this week and I have a fun sketch for all of you!  I can't wait to visit all of your blogs and see your creations!

I am finally finished with my Halloween stash.  My cards are all addressed and ready to mail.

I love this background paper.  If you look closely, you will see the cats in the paper.  I cut it with the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle        dies.  I added a banner of polka dots and cut a Very Vanilla rectangle with the same dies.  The little vampire kitty is from Simon Says Stamp: Trick of Treat.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  The sentiment and spider are stamped in black ink using the same stamp set.  (That is for you, LeAnne)!   LOL  I know you love spiders.

Witch Way Is The Candy? FMS309

October 19, 2017

It is a beautiful day in Atlanta, GA!  I didn't have winning results on the tennis court today, so I thought I would play in my tepee to drown my sorrows.  LOL!

I love the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and my friend Linda is the lovely hostess this week!  I have not had time to play along with many challenges lately, so I hope with colder weather coming and shorter days, I will find more time to play with some of the awesome challenges out there.

Any one that knows me, knows that I love to make Halloween cards.  I think it is a carry over from all those years in First Grade.  I thought I had my pile  completed, but when I saw this sketch  I thought, "What's one more"?  I can always find someone to send it to.

My card is created on a black card base.  The next two layers are cut using the MFT Mod Rectangle dies with Smokey Slate card stock and a piece of striped DSP in my stash.  The circle was created using alcohol inks.  This technique is new to me and the inks are so much fun to play with.  I love how it looks.  I used Amethyst alcohol ink.  I cut the circle using SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies.  A strip of Lemon Lime Twist card stock from Stampin' Up! was used for my rectangle shape.  The sentiment is stamped in black Memento ink using the MFT Witch Way Is the Candy? stamp set.  The little ghost is from Waltzing Mouse stamps.  The company is no longer in business, but I love this set and will not get rid of it.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella and white gel pen was used and  I added Glossy Accents to the star and buckle for shine.  A few black enamel dots were added for fun.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
I hope you have a great weekend!

Peace On Earth--#tttc020

October 19, 2017

I have a
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY!!!!!!!

I am thrilled to share that I am now a Designer at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

A huge THANK YOU to the team for this wonderful opportunity to do what I love and share it with all of you!

I will be designing for Team O.  Please join us for all the fun!

This week's board:

We would love for you to take some inspiration from the challenge board above, using three elements in a row of your choice. Whatever row inspires you is what we challenge you to create! Don’t forget to link back to us, and to use our hashtags #tictactoechallenge and #tttc020

I am playing with the diagonal:  peace, free and rhinestones

My card is created on a white card base.  The next layer was my first attempt at playing with alcohol inks!  I love how this background turned out.  After it dried, I cut it out using the Avery Elle Wonky Dies.  I used the retired Stampin' Up! Festive Flurry set to create the snowflakes.  I still love this beautiful stamp set.  I stamped the snowflakes on vellum in Versa Mark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  I cut them out using the matching dies.  I added a dimensional between each of the three snowflakes to add dimension.  I also used a retired snowflake embellishment from Stampin' Up! in the center.  I used the Reverse Confetti Winter Words die to cut the sentiment.  I cut it once in white and three times in black and adhered them together.  I off set the black and white to make it pop.  I heat embossed the words "on Earth" in white embossing power.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, please pop over and see more inspiration from the rest of the Tic Tac Toe design team and I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week!  She has a Clean and Simple Challenge for us!  Just in time to get your Halloween on!  Have fun!

Clean and Simple cards are always a challenge for me.  I love layers and "stuff" on my cards.  LOL!  I left a lot of white space, so I think it qualifies as  CAS.  I splattered distress inks on the background after masking the moon.  A strip of Smokey Slate card stock was added to separate the two spooky borders.  Two Craftin Desert Diva Harvest Border Dies were cut in black.   I cut tiny yellow strips to adhere behind the windows and doors.  The sentiment was stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed with white powder.  I saved this little witch from a retired Stampin' Up set.  I just love her.  She makes me smile!  The night sky would not be complete without a few black bats.

On a personal note, I just returned from a River Cruise on the Danube.  It was gorgeous!  Very chilly and a little rainy, but it was a wonderful experience!  We visited Hungary, Austria, the Czech Repulic and stopped in Germany! Just a few shots from my trip!  The cathedrals were so beautiful!  I have so many photos to sort through!  Never enough time!

What's Canoe With You? SSC163

October 8, 2017

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps!

Please use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice.

We have an amazing color challenge for all of you!  I must admit, this one speaks to me.  I love these colors and I am a huge fan of turquoise and Native American art.  I had so much fun creating this card!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used the SugarPea Designs Arrow Cover Plate to create my background.  I used Real Red for the main panel.   Then I cut a Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise panel and used the arrows to fill in the negative spaces.  I love the way this turned out.  I added a Tangerine Tango rectangle strip and stamped the sentiment using SugarPea Designs Indian Summer stamps set.  The little Indian in her canoe is from Your Next Stamp Little Darling Indians.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and added lots of Wink of Stella.  I used the matching dies to cut it out. A few Tempting Turquoise waves were added using a die.  Red enamel dots were added to complete my card.

Please use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice.

Warm Greetings--PP365

October 8, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

My friend and multi-talented Joanne from across the pond is our hostess this week!  She has a fabulous colors challenge for all of us!

I had a lot of fun creating this card.  I cut a scalloped border using a retired MFT Blueprints die using Early Expresso card stock.  I used all three colors--Crushed Curry, Early Expresso and Peekaboo Peach to create this background on watercolor paper.  After it dried, I added Early Expresso and Peekaboo Peach splatters with a paintbrush.  I trimmed it using a rectangle die.  I stamped the image using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp set-"Hey There Punkin" by Cheryl Grant.  I can't find it on their site.  Maybe it is retired.  I love this little pie maker because she reminds me of my Mom.  Growing up in Indiana, we ate a lot of pie.  It is a Hoosier tradition.  My Mom made pies every Saturday.  I sure do miss that!  Nothing better than a warm piece of pie and some vanilla ice cream! I colored her with Copic Markers and added some white dots with a gel pen.  Wink of Stella and sequins were added for shine.  I hope she makes you smile, too!

Don't forget to stop by all the DT members fantastic blogs for inspiration!  You won't be disappointed!
