Warm Greetings--PP365

October 8, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

My friend and multi-talented Joanne from across the pond is our hostess this week!  She has a fabulous colors challenge for all of us!

I had a lot of fun creating this card.  I cut a scalloped border using a retired MFT Blueprints die using Early Expresso card stock.  I used all three colors--Crushed Curry, Early Expresso and Peekaboo Peach to create this background on watercolor paper.  After it dried, I added Early Expresso and Peekaboo Peach splatters with a paintbrush.  I trimmed it using a rectangle die.  I stamped the image using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp set-"Hey There Punkin" by Cheryl Grant.  I can't find it on their site.  Maybe it is retired.  I love this little pie maker because she reminds me of my Mom.  Growing up in Indiana, we ate a lot of pie.  It is a Hoosier tradition.  My Mom made pies every Saturday.  I sure do miss that!  Nothing better than a warm piece of pie and some vanilla ice cream! I colored her with Copic Markers and added some white dots with a gel pen.  Wink of Stella and sequins were added for shine.  I hope she makes you smile, too!

  3. I adore the background - I've a soft spot for the spongy/flicky background. :-) . Such sweet colouring too. I can't wait to have a try with alcohol markers. The sequins are a pretty addition, too.

  4. This is so cute, Claire! I love your watercolored background--so many great colors. Great coloring on the sweetie PIE too. Just an all-round adorable card, my friend!

  5. I love this stamp Claire - with blond hair this little cutie could be Rebecca, she is a girl after your own heart - lives for pie of any kind!!! That watercoloured background is awesome too - your card exudes warmth and I can almost smell the baking. A fabulous card for my challenge this week!

  6. Oh so cute! Makes me want a piece of pie for sure! Awesome image and sweet background!

  9. Claire, it's a cold windy day here today and I swear your card made me feel warmer just by looking at it. I really feel as though your cute little lady is about to deliver me a nice piece of steaming warm pie that I can drink with a cup of hot coffee. Fabulous card
