It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week!  She has a Clean and Simple Challenge for us!  Just in time to get your Halloween on!  Have fun!

Clean and Simple cards are always a challenge for me.  I love layers and "stuff" on my cards.  LOL!  I left a lot of white space, so I think it qualifies as  CAS.  I splattered distress inks on the background after masking the moon.  A strip of Smokey Slate card stock was added to separate the two spooky borders.  Two Craftin Desert Diva Harvest Border Dies were cut in black.   I cut tiny yellow strips to adhere behind the windows and doors.  The sentiment was stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed with white powder.  I saved this little witch from a retired Stampin' Up set.  I just love her.  She makes me smile!  The night sky would not be complete without a few black bats.

Create a NEW paper, or digital, project.
  1. Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
  2. Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
  3. Please link your card to no more than four challenges, TOTAL.  Entries linked to more than 3 challenges, including ours, will be deleted without notification!
  4. Have fun!!
All stamping products are welcome.  Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!

On a personal note, I just returned from a River Cruise on the Danube.  It was gorgeous!  Very chilly and a little rainy, but it was a wonderful experience!  We visited Hungary, Austria, the Czech Repulic and stopped in Germany! Just a few shots from my trip!  The cathedrals were so beautiful!  I have so many photos to sort through!  Never enough time!

The steps were they filmed Do Re Mi in The Sound of Music!

  1. Love your spooky scene Claire! The spatters make such an awesome background. Your river cruise looked like so much fun..I always enjoy seeing vacation photos!

  2. Your spooky little scene, especially with that little Witch Hazel flying across the moon, made me smile! And your pictures from your trip are AMAZING!!! Glad you had a good time!

  3. The card is wonderful, full of all the classic icons of Halloween. I think the grey strip is a little something that makes a big difference to the overall effect but the scene stealer is the witch! Your cruise looks utterly fantastic and I'm feeling quite jealous. :-) I'm glad you had a great time.

  4. Love every spooky thing about this card - the witch, haunted houses, tombstones, splatters, and I could go on and on. A terrific Halloween card, Claire! Looks like a fab vacation and thanks for sharing the pics! Hugs, Annie

  5. Oh I love this, Claire! The graveyard silhouettes are fabulous and the way you've stacked them makes it look even spookier--like a craggy boneyard. Love that witch too, I can almost hear her cackle!

  6. Wow, Claire, you managed to mimic the challenge badge perfectly! I love the silhouettes and the moon. Looks like a great trip, and like you had a great time!

  7. Super-duper awesome! Love the sky you created - such a FUN card Claire!!

  8. I love your splattered sky Claire and your sweet witch highlighted against the moon is adorable! I bet she's a real cackler!! Europe looks like fun too - next time you should call in on me :-)
