For A Special Teacher--PP #351

July 2, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

Our lovely Joanne from across the pond is our hostess this week.  She has a fantastic theme challenge for all of us.  Congratulations to graduates, test takers and teachers --- the "subject" of the week!

Although school has been over for a month in Georgia, I realize many places are just getting out of school.  I already sent out all my graduation cards, but decided to make a teacher thank you to have when school starts again in August.  Teachers can never be thanked enough!

My card is created on a white card base.  I embossed a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock with an alphabet embossing folder.  I found a strip of DSP that had number words on it and added it across the embossed image.  The mason jar is heat embossed in white embossing powder and then I used an aqua painter and Broken China Distress ink to color the water.  I used a retired SU set for the jar.  "Perfectly Preserved" was a favorite set that I will always keep.  The jar cover was stamped on a scrap of polka dot paper and heat embossed in clear embossing powder.  The apples were stamped in red and green using the Reverse Confetti stamp set  All Apples and the matching dies were used to cut them out.   I added drops of Glossy Accents to look like water on the leaves, apples and on the jar.  Wink of Stella was added to the apples for shine.

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

  6. I just love this card Claire - I find it hard to make a teacher thank you card without an apple on it, so your trio are right up my street! Love the glossy accents for the water droplets and the fun embossed and patterned background. A fabulous card for my challenge this week and bound to make a special teacher feel appreciated!

  7. Such a sweet idea to make a bouquet of apples! I think the alphabet embossing folder is a real treasure! In fact, I was looking at all the individual elements you've used in this card and was thinking how great they'd be in a school-themed scrapbooking layout.
