It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! This week the lovely, Jaydee is our hostess. This week's them is "It's Hip to be Square!" I can't help but think about Huey Lewis when I look at the image! I adore square cards! I think they are so fun and different! We can't wait to see what you create!
Miss Addison starts first grade tomorrow and I made a card for her to give to one of her teachers. I love to make school themed cards. I guess after 27 years of teaching, I still think I have to get ready for another school year. LOL!
I am also entering my card in Friday Mashup Challenge. Their challenge is also make a square card.
My card base is Daffodil Delight (5 X 5). The next layer is Real Red (4 3/4 X 4 3/4). I used the fabulous Doddlebug-Back to School 6 X 6 paper pack for the patterned papers. The sentiment was stamped on black card stock in Versa Mark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I used a sponge dauber with white ink to give it the chalkboard effect. I used the Apothecary Framelits to cut out the sentiment.
A yellow ribbon was wrapped around the layers. I added two real red buttons and used white Baker's twine for the bows. An arrow paper clip was added for fun. All teacher's need paper clips! Right?
So happy you stopped by my blog today! Please leave a message! I love to hear from you!
Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.
