Witch Way Is The Candy? FMS309

October 19, 2017

It is a beautiful day in Atlanta, GA!  I didn't have winning results on the tennis court today, so I thought I would play in my tepee to drown my sorrows.  LOL!

I love the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and my friend Linda is the lovely hostess this week!  I have not had time to play along with many challenges lately, so I hope with colder weather coming and shorter days, I will find more time to play with some of the awesome challenges out there.

Any one that knows me, knows that I love to make Halloween cards.  I think it is a carry over from all those years in First Grade.  I thought I had my pile  completed, but when I saw this sketch  I thought, "What's one more"?  I can always find someone to send it to.

My card is created on a black card base.  The next two layers are cut using the MFT Mod Rectangle dies with Smokey Slate card stock and a piece of striped DSP in my stash.  The circle was created using alcohol inks.  This technique is new to me and the inks are so much fun to play with.  I love how it looks.  I used Amethyst alcohol ink.  I cut the circle using SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies.  A strip of Lemon Lime Twist card stock from Stampin' Up! was used for my rectangle shape.  The sentiment is stamped in black Memento ink using the MFT Witch Way Is the Candy? stamp set.  The little ghost is from Waltzing Mouse stamps.  The company is no longer in business, but I love this set and will not get rid of it.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella and white gel pen was used and  I added Glossy Accents to the star and buckle for shine.  A few black enamel dots were added for fun.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
I hope you have a great weekend!

Peace On Earth--#tttc020

I have a
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY!!!!!!!

I am thrilled to share that I am now a Designer at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!

A huge THANK YOU to the team for this wonderful opportunity to do what I love and share it with all of you!

I will be designing for Team O.  Please join us for all the fun!

This week's board:

We would love for you to take some inspiration from the challenge board above, using three elements in a row of your choice. Whatever row inspires you is what we challenge you to create! Don’t forget to link back to us, and to use our hashtags #tictactoechallenge and #tttc020

I am playing with the diagonal:  peace, free and rhinestones

My card is created on a white card base.  The next layer was my first attempt at playing with alcohol inks!  I love how this background turned out.  After it dried, I cut it out using the Avery Elle Wonky Dies.  I used the retired Stampin' Up! Festive Flurry set to create the snowflakes.  I still love this beautiful stamp set.  I stamped the snowflakes on vellum in Versa Mark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  I cut them out using the matching dies.  I added a dimensional between each of the three snowflakes to add dimension.  I also used a retired snowflake embellishment from Stampin' Up! in the center.  I used the Reverse Confetti Winter Words die to cut the sentiment.  I cut it once in white and three times in black and adhered them together.  I off set the black and white to make it pop.  I heat embossed the words "on Earth" in white embossing power.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, please pop over and see more inspiration from the rest of the Tic Tac Toe design team and I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week!  She has a Clean and Simple Challenge for us!  Just in time to get your Halloween on!  Have fun!

Clean and Simple cards are always a challenge for me.  I love layers and "stuff" on my cards.  LOL!  I left a lot of white space, so I think it qualifies as  CAS.  I splattered distress inks on the background after masking the moon.  A strip of Smokey Slate card stock was added to separate the two spooky borders.  Two Craftin Desert Diva Harvest Border Dies were cut in black.   I cut tiny yellow strips to adhere behind the windows and doors.  The sentiment was stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed with white powder.  I saved this little witch from a retired Stampin' Up set.  I just love her.  She makes me smile!  The night sky would not be complete without a few black bats.

Create a NEW paper, or digital, project.
  1. Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
  2. Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
  3. Please link your card to no more than four challenges, TOTAL.  Entries linked to more than 3 challenges, including ours, will be deleted without notification!
  4. Have fun!!
All stamping products are welcome.  Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!

On a personal note, I just returned from a River Cruise on the Danube.  It was gorgeous!  Very chilly and a little rainy, but it was a wonderful experience!  We visited Hungary, Austria, the Czech Repulic and stopped in Germany! Just a few shots from my trip!  The cathedrals were so beautiful!  I have so many photos to sort through!  Never enough time!

The steps were they filmed Do Re Mi in The Sound of Music!
