Sending My Love--FMS 189 and Just Us Girls #295

June 4, 2015

Today is special because it is my birthday!  I am so excited because I am going to lunch with special friends and then I am going to see my GRANDS for dinner.  Such a great way to celebrate!  Time is the best gift of all!

Today my card is for Freshly Made Sketches and Just Us Girls Challenge.  I love this sketch and it will be one I use again!  I had so many ideas for what I wanted to create.  I adore paper piecing, so this was the perfect pair for me.

I used the new Simon Says Stamp-You Have My Heart stamp and die set to create my card.  I just love this precious little girl!  I also participated in the Day 3 challenge to color every day for 30 days!  I didn't do as much coloring today because I paper pieced her dress and the balloons, but her face and hair were colored with Copics.   This card was so simple to put together.  I used Snap-Color Vibe Paper Kit for the pink polka dots.  A circle and rectangle cut with my stitched dies and a little black rectangle for the sentiment.  It was stamped with Versa Mark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I added a few Marshmallow sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to complete this card.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!  Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!

Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,
Claire

Hugs!--Sparkle and Shine Challenge

June 3, 2015

Today was a gorgeous day and now we are having a huge thunderstorm.  So, I decided it was the perfect time to enter the Sparkle and Shine Challenge.  The Design Team blows me away each week with their fantastic works of art.  Make sure you browse all of their blogs!  You could win a $25 dollar gift card from Pretty Pink Posh if you are selected as the winner!  How fun is that!!!!

They inspiration photo allows for so much creativity.  I hope you enjoy my take on the sketch!

I was so excited when I saw this ombre cake! I was finally able to purchase the Hero Arts-Mint to Green Ombre Ink Pad.  They were out of stock everywhere for weeks!  It was so much to play with different backgrounds for my shaker. After deciding on which one I wanted to use, I got busy on my card.

The first thing I did to create my card was stamp the Stampin' Up! background stamp, "Something Lacy" with the ombre ink.  I used my stitched circle die to cut it out.  I then created the Coastal Cabana frame by stacking two dies side by side to run through my Big Shot.  I continued with the dies and cut fun foam and a window sheet.

I cut a base card with Whisper White card stock (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  I used rectangle stitched dies to cut the Coastal Cabana and Whisper White panels.  I ran the white one through my Big Shot and embossed it with at retired Stampin' Up! scalloped folder.  I loved the texture with the flowers.

I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive to put the shaker together.  I added clear seed bead and Aquamarine and Sprakling sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I stamped some ombre ink on a scrap of white card stock and cut the "Hugs" die from Winnie and Walter-The Big, The Bold and Friends Cutaways three times and stacked them up to add dimension.  A few more sparkling sequins were added around the sentiment!

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!  I always love to hear from you!

Until next time!
Hugs!

Our Birthdays Are Feathers in the Broad Wing of Time--The Challenge #37

June 1, 2015

WOW!  How did it get to be June already?  Time is flying by!  We are almost half way through the year. That is so hard to believe!!!  YIKES!!!!!

It's time for a new sketch challenge at Always Playing With Paper--The Challenge!  We can't wait to see your interpretations of this amazing sketch!

1. Use the challenge to create a card.
2. Please add the challenge photo to your post (copy and paste).
3. Have fun and comment on the submissions of others.
4. Anything that is offensive to myself or to my viewers will be removed.
5. Have fun.

The first thing I did to create my card was make the feathers.  I stamped one with Rich Razzleberry ink and one with Island Indigo ink.  The other four were made by coloring the stamp with both colors of markers and spraying them with water before I stamped them.  It created a water colored look.  I love the way they turned out.  I used the matching die to cut them out.

I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp from Stampin' Up! to create a background with Rich Razzleberry and Island Indigo.  I added a strip of Bohemian DSP (available June 2nd) on top of the base card.  I cut a rectangle of vellum and stamped the sentiment from Clearly Besotted-Fancy Feathers with Versa Mark black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I adhered the vellum with glue dots and attached the feathers with dimensionals.  I added linen thread in the button and made a thread bow to attach to the feather.

I made this card for my nephew, Austin.  He is a birder and I think he will love this card.

I am so happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message and let me hear from you!

Please stop by all the other blogs by the Design Team members!  They are just so amazingly talented!!!

Until next time!

Hugs!
