It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.
The sensational Stef is our hostess this week and she has a fun challenge for all of us! We all need birthday cards in our stash. So, here's your chance to create a special CAS birthday card for someone special. You need to add a balloon or balloons to your creation!
Remember, clean and simple means limited layers and embellishments, along with plenty of "white" or open space.
Everyone knows I love hippos and this guy hasn't had any ink love in a longggg time. I added a strip of polka dots from my scrap stash and cut this festive circle die with the sentiment to showcase my hippo. The die is from MFT. They are no longer in business. I bet you could find it if you looked around on Ebay. I will keep it in my stash. The little hippo is from the Happy Hippos stamp set and is colored with Copic Markers along with his trio of balloons. This is also a MFT stamp set. I added some white ink lines for accent. No other embellishments were added since it needs to be a CAS card.

Claire your sweet balloon-bearing hippo is so cute! Love that sentiment die too - so useful and a definite keeper. The dotty paper was a good choice in mirroring the circle shape too. Gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteYup, that cute hippo is a keeper, Claire. He's so darling, I'm glad you let him come out and play with his party balloons! Great CAS birthday card. I have a healthy stash of MFT products and will likely never part with any of it. Love this!

ReplyDeleteAww, your hippo is adorable! My mom loves hippos too, she has an entire collection of hippo figurines in her kitchen and everyone in my family buys her hippo stuff when we see it. Anyway, I love the bright polka dot paper to accent your hippo and that circular die is the coolest thing ever!! Super birthday card!
ReplyDeleteClaire, your little hippo is absolutely adorable. Although, I can tell you from experience, having been chased be one at 5am that they are anything close to adorable :-). However, I'd have this little hippo in my house any day. Fabulous job coloring the balloons on this wonderful CAS card.
