Friends Warm My Heart PP423

January 6, 2019

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!  So happy to be back   creating cards and blogging.  I enjoyed my time off with lots of family and friends over the holidays.
These are a few of my favorite moments.

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  It's our first challenge of 2019 and we hope you will play along.  We are so excited to have Wanda Cullen and Su Mohr join us as our new Guest Designers.  They are both so talented and we know you will enjoy their creations each week.

The amazing Ann is our hostess and she has a FUN theme challenge for all of us!  Anyone that knows or follows Ann is aware that she owns the most beautiful Boxers you have ever seen!  She is an animal lover and wants us to add an animal to our cards!  There are so many possibilities.  We can't wait to see your ideas!

I used a Crumb Cake card base for today's card.  My card is created using the items in the new Simon Says Stamp January Kit--Snow Much.  There are so many fun items in this kit.  I used the patterned  papers for all the papers in my card.  I stamped the little bird using Honey Bee Stamps Snow Birds.  I used the matching dies to cut him out.  I colored him with Copic Markers and paper pieced his scarf with one the plaids in the SSS kit.

The sentiment is stamped using the same set in Versa Fine black ink. I cut a fishtail banner and added dimensionals behind it.   I found this snowflake die in my stash.  I am sorry, I don't know where it is from.  I added three white snowflakes around the circles that were cut using the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag circle dies.  I added retired navy candy dots from SU on the sentiment banner and the center of the snowflakes.
In the New Year, I am going to try to finish the inside of my cards and make matching envelopes.  It is so much easier to get the cards in the mail if you do this.

  2. This little chappie is adorable Claire - perfect for a winter birthday with a wonderful sentiment, so true. I love his little plaid scarf!! I'm not sure he's as cute as all of those adorable grandchildren of yours though - so glad you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas!

  3. Absolutely adorable, Claire! I love all the hues of blue and the mix of patterns...just perfect! I really need to follow your cue and finish my cards as I make them. That's a great tip for the start of the New Year. And oh, Muffy, Brody, Lexi, Jackie and little GQ send Boxer hugs to you!

  5. What gorgeous photos of your family and friends! You are a busy lady! And your little snowbird is beautiful in blue! Did I thank you for my sympathy card and tell you how GORGEOUS I thought it was?! It's a KEEPER just like you! ♥

  6. Cute little birdie! And lovely colors too!

  7. Claire, such wonderful photos - thank you for sharing. I love the sentiment on the inside of the card and it perfectly matches the wonderful little birdie and he's fabulously colored, too!
