Make Splash--PP285 and FMS226

March 6, 2016

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

This week the Sensational Sandy is our hostess.  Rain of Shine is a perfect theme for March.  The weather is always so unpredictable!  We can't wait to see what you create!

The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches was perfect for the card I wanted to create, so I am playing along with them this week, too!

My base card is white.  I am so in love with this plaid paper from My Favorite Things.  I have used it for the last few cards that I have created.  The back panel was cut using the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Dies from SugarPea Designs.  The white panel is cut using the SugarPea dies and backed with a piece of pink from my stash.  Pear Pizzazz was cut in a one inch strip and embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder from Stampin' Up! I stamped the sentiment with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder on Pear Pizzazz.

Abby's Spring Showers stamps from Simon Says Stamp was used to create the little girl and the umbrella.  I stamped both of them on Neenah Solar White card stock and then again on the plaid paper.  I fussy cut the raincoat and the umbrella pieces.  I decided her raincoat needed Pear Pizzazz pockets, so I stamped the coat again and fussy cut the pockets.  Copic Markers were used to color her skin and boots.  Abby's Spring Showers Dies were used to cut them out.  I added white gel pen freckles and Wink of Stella on Abby.  Her pink boots were covered with Glossy Accents to make them shine!  The rain puddle and raindrops were stamped in Smokey Slate ink and covered with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents for shine and dimension.  Abby decided to toss the umbrella because the sun was starting to shine!  You've got to love that!

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!

  7. OH my goodness, Claire, this is absolutely adorable! I love the plaid paper and especially the way you pieced it for Abby's matching brelly and coat. I think my favorite part, though, are her sweet rosy cheeks freckled and winking with Stella! As my daughter would say...ADORBS!!
