My Thoughts and Prayers Are With You!--SPDSS39

 It's time for a new sketch challenge at  SugarPea Designs Challenge Team Sketch!  

You have all month to play along with us! You are welcome to play along with all the sketches or just one but remember the more times you play along during the month, the better chance you have of winning a $75 gift certificate to our store!!!



Here's the sketch!


The rules are very simple…
  • Create a new card or project using the sketch provided.
  • SugarPea Designs stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :)
  • You may rotate/flip the sketch & replace shapes – so long as the original sketch layout is recognizable.
  • Upload to your blog or other Online Gallery using Keyword: SPDSS39 so that we may check out your beautiful work.
  • Add your name and link to your project in the InLinkz shown below.
  • One randomly selected winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs store. However, if the winning entry features a SugarPea Designs stamp we will increase the prize to $75!
  • We will announce our Sweet Picks and our Main Winner at the end of each month.
  • The more times you play along during the month, the better chance you have of winning!

I think this sketch is fantastic!  I wanted to make a card for someone that is going through a very difficult time.  This sweet little girl with her teddy bear was the perfect choice.  I hope she will know this card is made with love!

I used the SugarPea Designs-Twinkle Twinkle Stamp Set for my main image. I stamped this precious little girl on Neenah Solar White paper and colored her with a variety of Copic Markers.  The SugarPea Zig Zag Stitched Circles were used to cut out the image and the Melon Mambo circle.  The sentiment is stamped on white card stock with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  A few sequins were added for sparkle.

Will You Be My Valentine? --Sparkle & Shine

 It's time for a new month and a new challenge at Sparkle & Shine!

We are excited you are here and hope that are inspired! For this challenge, please use the photo inspiration below when creating your projects. You can create in any way you like as long as we can see the inspiration in your design. 


For this challenge we are sponsored by the amazing Create A Smile Stamps! The winner of our challenge will receive a $25 gift card to the online store and will be asked to be our Guest Designer for next month. 


My base card is white card stock and the next layer is Real Red.  The top layer is a piece of black and white striped paper I found in my stash.  I stamped the sentiment (Simon Says Stamp-Paper Hugs Stamp Set envelopes (Honey Bee Stamps-Special Delivery) and little hearts in Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed them with red embossing powder.  I added Glossy Accents to the hearts for lots of shine.  I adhered two felt hearts for fun.  The Real Red XOXO is from Simon Says Stamp--XOXO Die. Wink of Stella was added on the XOXO for sparkle.  A perfect Valentine for someone special!

You're A Gem--The Challenge #59

 It's Monday and time for a new challenge at The Challenge!
This week we have a very interesting sketch challenge for you! We can't wait to see what you create!


A few rules to keep things fun and fair!
1. Use the challenge to create a card.
2. Please add the challenge graphic to your blog post (copy and paste).
3. Have fun and comment on the submissions of others.
4. Anything that is offensive to myself or to my viewers will be removed.
5. Please only link to 3 other challenges plus our challenge for a total of 4 challenges.
6. Have fun!

I needed a birthday card for a very special friend.  I decided I would make this sketch work for her card.  I played around with several ideas, but then remembered I just received this fabulous die set from My Favorite Things-Die-Namic Diamonds.  I used distress inks on water color paper to make the background papers.  Then I used the die to cut the solid part of each gem from the watercolor papers.  Gold foil was cut using the outline die for each gem.  I attached the foil and watercolor pieces  together with Ranger Multi Medium Matte.  





The base card is white card stock.  Another sheet of watercolor paper was inked on the edges with the blue distress ink and placed behind the main panel.  I used fun foam between the main panel and the blue one to make it dimensional.  A few gold sequins were attached for sparkle and shine!
