SMILES--PPA272

October 19, 2015

I haven't been in my craft room for days.  Had my GRANDS here to play and that doesn't lead to much time to craft.  They are 6, 3 and 1.  Lots of LOVE in one bed!  I had so much fun with them!

I love the sketch at Pals Paper Arts this week.  I had an idea and I am so happy I was able to find a minute to make the card this afternoon.

I am a huge fan of plaid and it is in "STYLE" again!  Preppy at it's finest!  YIPPEE!  My base card is black.  The plaid paper is from Paper Studio.  I found it in my stash.  I used a strip of green patterned paper from the Carta Bella paper pack.  The sled from Winter Wishes (Stampin' Up!) was stamped in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

The "smiles" die from Winnie and Walter was cut on black paper 5 times and then once in Cherry Cobbler.  I glued them together with the Stampin' Up! two way glue pen.  Wink of Stella was added on top of the sentiment for shine.  I found this Cherry Cobbler twine in my stash and loved it with this wintery card.  I added a few black enamel dots for fun.

I used to make myself finish the cards inside and have gotten out of the habit.  I had to go back and finish all my Halloween cards and it wasn't that much fun.  So, with that being said, I am going to make myself  finish each card and make a matching envelope before I start a new project.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  Please leave a comment.  I love to hear from you!  I enjoyed making this card because it reminded me of winters in Indiana.  My Daddy used to pull our sleds behind his tractor.  I am not a fan of cold, but those memories are precious to me!

Linda Callahan--this is for you!  I know you have snow already!  XXX

HUGS!!!

  3. The card is a classic throw back with the plaid. It reminds me of my childhood as well. We could be outside all day wet and cold and it never mattered. Thanks for playing with the Pals this week.
