Big Hugs--FMS 209 and ColourQ #313

October 21, 2015

When I woke up this a.m., I looked at the challenges because I was going to have time to play in my craft room.  I LOVED the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches  and the theme at ColourQ!  Breast Cancer month is in October and it reminds us of all the warriors out there!  I have lost three of my dear friends in the last few years to cancer.  My bestie's sister is battling breast cancer now, so I knew just what I wanted to make.  I love the Namaste girl from Simon Says Stamp -Work Out stamp and die set.  She makes me think of peace.  I hope you will enjoy my card.

My base card is white.  The next layer is a piece of Bazzill Card Stock -Princess paper I found in my stash.  I loved the texture in the paper. The top layer is white and cut with the SugarPea Designs-Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I used a retired stamp from Stampin' Up! "Off the Grid" for a background. Smoky Slate ink was used and stamped off once for a lighter shade.

Copic Markers were used to color the image.  I love this new sentiment from Simon Says Stamp-Big Hugs.  Anyone that follows my blog knows I always sign off with HUGS!  I used Basic Gray card stock to cut the sentiment.  This was perfect to send to someone you are praying for and want to comfort.  I added a few "Pink Blush"  sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for sparkle.  Wink of Stella was added to add more shine.

THANK you for stopping by my blog today!  I love to hear from you.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!

PRAYING for all of those fighting cancer and their families!

HUGS!
Claire

  2. Such a lovely card Claire, I love the main image and the way you have coloured her in looks fantastic, the hair looks so trendy. It's sad that most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer but we have to remain hopeful.
