With Sympathy--FMS 202 and PPA266

September 3, 2015

Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a friend that lost her brother to cancer.  I didn't have any cards that I thought were appropriate for a man.  So, when I saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the colors at Pals Paper Arts, I knew just what I wanted to do.  I thank both teams for helping me with this difficult task!  By the way, I LOVE Cajun Craze.  I know that is not a favorite of most people!

I began by cutting a small rectangle with my stitches dies on Very Vanilla paper. I stamped the tree from "Lovely As A Tree" with Early Expresso Ink.  I stamped it off once so it wasn't so dark.  I used my aqua painter and colored the top of the tree with Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze.  I also added some Old Olive at the bottom.  I used a Distress Ink, " Broken China" and lightly blended some blue for the sky.

My card base is Very Vanilla.  I added a layer of Bohemian Designer Series Paper  die cut with a rectangle stitched die.  I made a frame with two stitched dies using Delightful Dijon.  I made a banner with Cajun Craze, the DSP and Very Vanilla and stamped the sentiment with Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I added a gold button and gold Baker's Twine.

Wishing you a lovely day!

HUGS!
Claire

  7. Autumn is the perfect theme for a sympathy card. Can't believe I haven't thought of that. I'll be stashing this one in the idea bank. Thanks for sharing at Pals Paper Arts.
