You Are the Sweetest! --PP250

June 21,2015

It's Sunday and time for a new and fun challenge at The Paper Players!  We were all amazed at the fabulous entries last week for our color challenge!

HAPPY Father's Day to all the Dad's!  I miss my Daddy every day.  So, this is a difficult day for me.  I was a lucky girl and had the BEST Daddy a girl could have asked for.

I am the hostess this week and since we are celebrating the summer solstice, we would like to see projects featuring Clean and Simple Summer Treats!  We can't wait to see what you create!  It does not have to be ice cream, so use your imagination and let's see all kinds of summer treats!

My card is for my sweet Victoria's birthday,  She will be 3 on July 2.  We have a tradition of always eating ice cream when we are together, so I thought this was the perfect card for her.  She loves purple and is the sweetest girl!  I can't believe she will be 3!

The base card is white and I stamped the hearts for a border using the SugarPea Designs-Build a Background-Basics stamp set.  I used Rich Razzleberry ink.  I cut a square from Rich Razzelberry card stock and embossed it with polka dots.  My granddaughter and I have a thing for polka dots. A piece of green and white ribbon was added for a pop of color.

I used the stamp and die set by Clearly Besotted-Super Cool for my sweet treat.  The cone was stamped with Crumb Cake ink and the ice cream was colored with Copic Markers and covered with Wink of Stella for lots of shine. I used the matching dies to cut it out.  I cut a white circle with my stitched dies and stamped the sentiment with Versa Fine Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I adhered the cone with foam tape.  I then adhered the circle with foam tape on top of the square and ribbon.

Three sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for the birthday girl.

  4. Claire I love your summer treat - reminds me of my favourite mint ice cream! I really enjoyed reading your post today - it just shows how even when a card is CAS, there is still lots of love and thought that goes into making it. Victoria is such a cutie! What a great start to your challenge this week!
