It's Time To Par-Tee! --CMCC No 73 and Mask-erade Day 1 Homework

May 27, 2015

I finally am back in my craft room.  So happy to find a few minutes to play today.  It is like "RECESS" time!

Today I am playing along with the Colour Me Challenge!  I love the week that the colors are "PLAYFUL"!  These bright, vibrant colors make me smile.  They are colors that I would probably never pair together, but that is why it is a "Challenge!"  Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Lost Lagoon, Pumpkin Pie and a Neutral are the palette colors.

This card is also for my Day 1 homework  for the  Mask-erade Card Class.  I absolutely love learning new techniques and I find these classes very helpful!

I live in a golfing community, so I just had to have this new stamp set by SugarPea Designs-Tee-Rific!  I have so many people that would enjoy a card made from this set.  The sentiment, "It's Time To Par-Tee" made me think of someone making a hole in one!  When that happens, the person that accomplishes this goal has to buy everyone in the clubhouse a drink!  So, a group of golf buddies is perfect to try the masking technique!

I created a mask with Inkadinkado Masking Paper using the penguin stamp and black ink.  I fussy cut it with my paper snips.  I stamped the middle penguin first and then mask it off and stamped the other two penguins.  I colored the penguins with a variety of Copic Markers.  I also colored the base of the card with a Copic Marker.  I used my Aqua Painter and watered down Lost Lagoon ink for the sky.  I stamped the hats on Backgrounds DSP Coordinates in Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon.  I fussy cut them and paper pieced them on the penguins.  The sentiment was stamped in black.  Wink of Stella was added to create shine on the golf clubs and penguins.

The base card is White (5 1/2 X 4 1/4)  Lost Lagoon was placed on top of the base card ( 5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  I used Rich Razzleberry on the next layer. (5 X 4).  I   rounded the corners with my corner chomper and then added the top layer (4 3/4 X 3 3/4).  I added white gel pen to the eyes and golf balls to create divets.  I also used the black gel pen around the eyes to make them stand out.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

HUGS!

Sounds like you have just the right audience for this fun card! : ) Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. I've always been a fan of SW art; growing up in TX and visiting grandparents and other family in NM obviously had an impact on me. Still love to go and visit! Thanks again! Blessings!
