BELIEVE--Merry Monday #156

April 27, 2015

I am back from my visit in Indiana and able to spend a few minutes in my craft room today.  This is one of my favorite pictures taken while I visited my Mom.  We went to Indiana University to see my niece ride in the Little 500 Bike Race.  I am so proud of her.

                                    Bloomington, Indiana-IU campus

My niece, Sara Kathrine is in the middle.

My card is for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  Wendy is hosting the challenge that calls for projects with pinecones, greens and the word "Believe"!

I used one of my favorite retired stamps by Stampin' Up! "Ornamental Pine."
It is such a realistic stamp and it always shines on any card.

I used a new die set by My Favorite Things-Blueprint 14.  I can see using this set for many cards.  I just love all the possibilities this set offers. The retired "Under The Tree" DSP by Stampin' Up was cut with the square die.  The base card is Very Vanilla.  (10" X 5" scored at 5") I stamped the pine needles in Always Artichoke and the pinecones in Early Expresso on Very Vanilla after using the die for this shape.  I added white gel pen to the pine cones.  Early Expresso ink was sponged over the top of the pines. I then stamped Versa Mark over the top of the pines and covered in in clear embossing powder.  It is very difficult to see the shine, but it really is pretty!.

The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz set, "Christmas Words."  I masked the other words and only stamped "Believe."  It is stamped in Early Expresso.  Linen Thread and an Early Expresso button was added.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Wishing you a fabulous day!

Happy Stampin'!
Claire
