COME ON--Lawnscaping Challenge No. 101

Well, another raining day!  I sure hope all this rain makes for a beautiful Spring!  The trees, azaleas and dogwoods are probably very happy!  My daffodils popped today, so I know warmer days are coming soon!  

The Lawnscaping Challenge is right up my alley this week!  I LOVE polka dots and stripes.  It was so fun to create a card with a few of my favorite things.  

This challenge is sponsored by the lovely, Ellen Hutson!  I absolutely love her site and purchase many of my supplies from her.  The shipping is so speedy and receiving your goodies quickly is so exciting!  

My card features several Lawn Fawn items.  The new picket fence die is featured.  One of my favorite stamp sets, "Swimsuit Season" and several papers from the Snow Day Paper Pack had polka dots and stripes.  The polka dots in the fence, shaker frame, bathing suit, beach ball  and flip flops meets the challenge requirements.  Also, the stripes in the swim trunks and beach ball covers that portion of the challenge. 

I created a sponged background and then used the Lawn Fawn Hillside border dies to create a beach scene.  I grunged the dirt and sand to make it appear real.  I paper pieced the beach ball and created my own sentiment with "Claire's ABC Stamps."  I couldn't resist getting them since that is my name!  When I was a child, I could never find anything that used my name.  There were no monogram shops then.  

The finishing touch in the shaker card is sequins and seed beads from Pretty Pink Posh!  I just love all the different sequins offered at this amazing site.
