It's Wednesday and time for another challenge at Colour Me...!  This week the colors are "Playful!"  Basic Black, Blackberry Bliss, Elegant Eggplant, Crisp Cantaloupe and a Neutral.

Each week we will have a creative colour challenge for you to get crafty and show us your best greeting cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital or traditional paper crafts, costumes, etc. Only the colours we indicate may be used for your project. Neutrals such as black, gray, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome.

Guest Designer for October

My card background is created by using my aqua painter, watercolor paper (5" X 3 3/4") and the ink colors, Blackberry Bliss, Elegant Eggplant and Crisp Cantaloupe.  After it dried, I was ready to put my card together.

The card base is Basic Black (5 1/2" X 4 1/4") and the next layer is Crisp Cantaloupe (5 1/4" X 4").  I stamped the trees across the watercolored piece in Momento  Black ink using the stamp set, "Lovely As A Tree."  I cut a circle on a piece of scrap paper to make the mask for the moon and sponged the moon in Crisp Cantaloupe in the corner.  I stamped the bats in black ink.  Then I used Versa Mark ink on Basic Black paper to stamp the 3 houses (Holiday Home Stamp Set) .  I heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  I used the Holiday Home framelits to cut them out.  I also stamped the ghost and pumpkins on Whisper White and fussy cut them.  I adhered the houses using dimensionals.  I adhered the ghost and pumpkins with Snail Adhesive.

I sure hope you enjoyed my card.  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you.

  1. So Halloweenishly festive! I have this stamp set and I don't know why but it intimidates me. You made it look so easy with them heat embossed.

  3. Great card Claire - I love how you took your inspiration from the photo this week too. Those houses look really spooky against that watercoloured background - perfect for Halloween!
