Autumn Teaches Us The Paper Players Challenge PP750

August 10, 2025

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.

I am the hostess this week and I have a beautiful Color Challenge for all of you!  Blackberry Bliss, Cherry Cobble, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie are a few of my favorite SU classic colors.  I can't wait to see what you create!  Have fun!

I love Fall and I decided to start my stash of autumn cards.  I used Cherry Cobbler for my background.  I added a piece of Stampin Up Need For Tweed DSP for the next layer.  The rectangle element is backed with Cherry Cobbler and I added a different piece of DSP from this pack.  I used the smooshing technique with Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler on pieces of watercolor paper.  Then I used the leaf die from Stampin Up Autumn Leaves set to cut out the leaves.  It is a favorite of mine.  It is retired, but I will keep it in my stash.  I used Blackberry Bliss to create the smooshed watercolor paper for the vein in the leaves.  I added a twine bow and the sentiment is from matching stamp set SU Autumn Leaves.

Life's a Beach The Paper Players Challenge PP749 Sunday Stamps Challenge SSC366

 August 3, 2025

It's Sunday and time for new challenges at The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps.  I can not believe it is already August.  It is hot in Atlanta and I will admit I am ready for cooler days.

The sensational Stef is the hostess this week at The Paper Players.  Her theme challenge is "By the Water."  Such a perfect theme for this hot weather.  Sunday Stamps has this gorgeous, bright color challenge to work with this week.  I combined these two challenges to make my card this week.  Have fun and we can't wait to see what you create.

I do love the beach and if I could choose water to be beside, that is where I would be.  This fun set CZ Designs Beachy Keen was perfect for my card. I stamped the umbrellas on three of the colors from the challenge.  I fussy cut them and adhered them on the front.  I squished distress ink on a piece of water color paper and created this aqua color for the waves.  I used a die to cut the waves and layered them at the bottom of my card.  I stamped the sentiment on yellow and add it to the front of the panel.

Happy Birthday The Paper Players Challenge PP748

 July 27, 2025

It's Sunday and time for new challenges at The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps

The amazing Jan is our hostess this week and she has a fabulous sketch challenge for all of us.  I love this sketch because you can make any type of card you want or need in your stash.  Have fun and get creative!

My card was created for my grandson Robert.  He is 11 and loves Legos.  I played around and figured out how to make the Lego blocks.  I used a 1" square punch and then I used a circle punch to make the circles.  I started with a blue background and added a black base embossed with circles.  I added the Lego blocks all around the card.  The rectangle was added and the sentiments to follow the sketch.  I used a white gel pen to add some highlights. He loved it!
