Love Is On The Way--SOS & Sketch Saturday Challenges

I am waiting on my flight to Indiana.  My mother has been in the hospital for several days and I am on my way to help out.  So, I won't be crafting until I return.  

 I made a card for the Shopping Our Stash Challenge and used the great sketch from Sketch Saturday.  

 The SOS Challenge calls for gingham.  Nothing says gingham like a baby card.  I hope you enjoy my card!

My card is created using the SugarPea Designs-Welcome Baby stamp set and dies.  I just love this little onsie  and it can be personalized any way you want to do it!  I added the rattle in Melon Mambo ink.  I used the Pink & Navy paper pack from Hobby Lobby and created all the different shapes and layered them with white for extra pop.  

I added the sentiment from SugarPea Designs-Bundle of Joy.  I stamped it with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I added a white Baker's Twine bow and a little pink button.  Pearls were added for fun on the onsie and above the sentiment.

Christmas Greetings-CASE-ing Christmas

 I am soooo excited!  I found a new challenge to play along with and I just love the whole idea!  It is called CASE-ing Christmas!  

This time you are to find a card you made that is not a holiday card and CASE yourself!  (Copy and Share Everything)  I knew just what I wanted to do.  I made this card the other day--

So, here is my Christmas version!  I hope you enjoy it!  

I used the new "Brushstrokes" background stamp from Stampin' Up!!  I just love it!  I know you will be seeing it a lot on my cards.  I stamped it on Whisper White using Old Olive ink.  I used one of my banner framelits and set it aside while I worked on my flowers.  

The flowers were created using the Memory Box Poinsettia dies on Real Red card stock.   Then, I stamped the leaves using Old Olive and Garden Green from Altenew Vintage Flowers and cut them out with the matching dies.  

The white background was cut using a die by Mama Elephant.  The red and white polka dots are from SU and cut with the Mama Elephant die, too.  I mounted the Old Olive banner on top of it after using a piece of vellum under it to tone down the polka dots.  I cut it with the Mama Elephant die, too.  I used lots of foam tape to add dimension under the flowers and leaves. 

 The banner was stamped in black using  Winnie And Walter -The Big-The Bold-and Extras stamp set and a retired SU sentiment was stamped in Real Red.  I fussy cut the banner.  I double mounted the banner to make it stand higher than the flowers. 

Pearls were added to the centers of the poinsettias and I added a few extra just for fun!  Don't pearls make it more elegant?

Baby, It's Cold Outside-Merry Monday #166 and SPDSS 28

 I was feeling a little down today due to some health issues with my Mom, so I needed a little pick me up.  I saw that the  Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge  wanted a card using penguins this week.  I absolutely love my little penguin stamp from  SugarPea Designs  - (Tee-Rific  stamp set) so, a fun thought popped into my head and I went straight to my happy place---my craft room!  I had so much fun creating this card and it certainly made me smile!  I hope you smile, too!

I stamped the penguin on Neenah Solar White paper and colored it with Copic Markers.  I fussy cut him and then stamped another hat on a matching sheet of the papers from the Santa & Friends paper pack from Paper Studios.  (Sorry, I can't find a link for it online.  It may be retired.)  I used my favorite Marvy  Snow Pen on his hat to create the fur.  I just love it!  I stamped a candy cane in Strawberry Slush and heat embossed it in clear powder and added it in his hand.  I sat him aside while I worked on my card.


Papers were selected from the Santa & Friends Paper Pack and a large rectangle was cut using my stitched dies for the front of the card.  I used a strip of polka dots across the card.  Another rectangle was cut and the corners rounded for the next panel.  I cut a white panel and added my sentiment with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed in clear powder.  Using Garden Green ink, I stamped off a few trees and sponged some Soft Sky for the background.  Both the trees and sentiment are retired Stampin' Up sets that I have in my stash.  A few snowflakes were added with the Soft Sky ink.  Wink of Stella was added to the penguin, candy cane  and the trees for a pop of shine.  I also added Glossy Accents to the candy cane.  It looks real now!
