You Shore Are Sweet-PP252

July 5, 2015

I hope you had a fabulous Fourth of July!  We enjoyed special time with my son and his beautiful family!  We celebrated Miss Victoria's 3rd birthday and Robert's 1st birthday.  It was a wonderful day!  Lots of laughs and so many smiles!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  The amazing, Ann is our hostess this week!  The "Great Outdoors" is the theme.  We can't wait to see what you create!  Oh, the possibilities are endless!

When I think of the "Great Outdoors", I guess my first thought is the ocean.  Growing up in the Mid-West didn't allow for many beach visits.  I have always been fascinated with the ocean and it vastness.  So, I decided, I would make a card featuring one of my favorite places.

My card was created using the SugarPea Designs, "SeaSideWishes" stamp set.  I stamped the little girl, the crab and the shells using black Momento ink.  I colored them with Copic Markers.  I fussy cut them and set the aside while I worked on the rest of my card.

My base card is Whisper White.  (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  The next layer is black (5 1/4 X 4)  The next layer is from the Authentique "Seaside" paper pack.  (5 X 3 3/4)  The next two layers are black rectangles topped with other different patterns from the same paper pack.  I cut a black circle using circle dies and then I cut a white sunburst circle and sponged it with Marina Mist ink.  The girl, the crab and shells were attached using foam tape for dimension.  Three Marina Mist candy dots were added for fun.

A Gift For Baby--FMS193

July 3, 2015

It's a raining day in Georgia, so I found a little time to play in my craft room.

I am using the sketch by Freshly Made Sketches today.  I needed a baby card for a special new arrival, so this sketch gave me just the inspiration that I needed.  I also used the colors of the babies nursery.

I used the "Bundle of Joy" stamp set by SugarPea Designs for my card today.  I colored the stork and baby with Copic Markers and fussy cut the image.

I cut a rectangle from Doodlebug's Patriotic Picnic and adhered it on the card.  A Whisper White panel was attached next and then another rectangle of the blue was placed on the left side.  I also cut a small rectangle of a different pattern to place on top of the other blue rectangle.  A Pumpkin Pie border was cut using MFT Blueprint die.  I used foam tape to adhere the stork and the baby.

The sentiment was stamped with black Versa Fine ink.  It was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  White Baker's Twine was wrapped around the card and tied in a bow.  I also attached a button with a glue dot after threading it with the twine.  Three Pumpkin Pie candy dots were added for fun.

Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I always appreciate hearing from you!

Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend!

Hugs,
Claire

Sparkle and Shine Challenge

July 1, 2015

I am SOOOO excited to announce that I am now a member of the Sparkle and Shine Challenge Design Team!  I am honored to be a part of this wonderful group of talented designers!

This week we are excited to share a beautiful inspiration photo to inspire you in your creations. Your goal is to make a project reflecting how the photo inspires you!

The winner of this challenge will receive a $25 gift card to be used in the Pretty Pink Posh shop.  You can choose from amazing sequins and dies.

When I saw the little pinwheels in the inspiration photo, I knew what I wanted to do.  I remembered that I had a retired pinwheel die in my stash.  I searched and searched for it and when I found it, I was so excited.  I pulled out my Doddlebug Patriotic Picnic paper pack and picked three different patterns.  I ran the die through my Big Shot and assembled the pinwheels with silver brads from my stash.

My base card is Whisper White card stock. (5 1/2 X 4 1/4)  I stamped a jar from the Avery Elle Set, Bottle it Up on the bottom left corner.  I stamped another jar on vellum and cut it out with the matching die.  I just received the star garland die in my happy mail this week from Reverse Confetti.  I cut 3 red garlands and adhered them on the jar before attaching the vellum.  Glue dots were used to add the pinwheels.  I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark and heat embossed it in Zing Rouge.  I love that red!  I added a few stars with blue ink.  Sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh top the blue stars for Sparkle and Shine!

Hope you are able to join us in this challenge. You have until  to get your entires in. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!

Please leave me a comment if you have any questions or thoughts on my card. I love reading your comments. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.
