THANKS!--PPA 248 and The Card Concept 33

April 17, 2014

Another rainy, gloomy day in Georgia!  It has rained every day this week!  I am in desperate need of some sun beams!

I wanted to share a card I created for the The Card Concept  and the Pals Paper Arts Challenges!  I loved the sketch and wanted to step out of my comfort zone and create a graphic, clean and simple card.  Clean and simple are the most difficult cards for me.  I love layers and bling, so this card is very different for me.  I am pleased with the result and I hope you will enjoy it, too!

Make sure to stop by each site to see what the Design Teams created.  Their samples are amazing!  Lots of great ideas and inspiration every week for you to enjoy!

The first thing I did to create my card was use Pickled Raspberry Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  I applied the ink to the back side of the stencil, sprayed it with water and then turned it over on a piece of white paper to get the top panel.  I really like this look.  Such a quick and simple way to make your own Designer Series Paper.

The base card is white (10" x 5") scored at 5".  I used Melon Mambo paper for the next layer.  The gray triangle paper is from Heidi Swapp.  I backed the watercolor panel with Melon Mambo, too.  I found this THANKS die in my stash.  It is from Taylored Expressions.  It might have been a freebie in an order.  I really can't remember.  I cut a 1" strip from Basic Gray paper and clipped the ends to make the banner and the die was cut using Smokey Slate paper.  The two silver brads are from Jolee.

Thank you for taking time to stop by my blog.  I would love to hear your thoughts.  Please leave a comment!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend!

HAPPINESS-The Challenge #30

April 13, 2015

When I saw the fabulous color combination at The Challenge, I knew I had to play along!  Any time I see red and a shade of turquoise/blue, I am in heaven!  Those are my favorite colors!

Besides card making, my other favorite thing to do is play tennis.  I am not a very good player, but I have so much fun being with friends and being outside.  It is something I wish I had learned to do when I was a child.  I try to play at least once a week, but it seems like it rains every week on my tennis day!

I hope you will smile when you see what brings me HAPPINESS!  This could be me!

I found this polka dot paper in my stash and I thought it looked like flying balls! LOL!  I colored this sporty gal with my Copic Markers.  I also added some Glossy Accents to her glasses.  It doesn't show up on the picture very well.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I always love to hear from you.  Please leave a comment if you have a minute.

Wishing you HAPPINESS!!!

Merry Christmas-Merry Monday #154

April 13, 2015

I am trying to make time to enter a few challenges this week.  It is pouring down rain and supposed to rain all week!  So, hopefully, I will have more time in my craft room!

Today I am entering the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  The theme this week is vintage.

I have several stamps that I love to use to make vintage cards, so I pulled out one of my favorites!  I think if I could live in any decade as an adult, it would be the 50's.  I love the dresses, the pearls and all the happy music and times that go along with that era.

I used a stamp from Prickley Pear, "Hanging An Ornament".  I had so much fun coloring her and paper piecing her dress with red and white polka dots.  I used my Copic Markers for her skin tone.  I distressed the edges and used Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink with a sponge for a vintage look.  Garden Green paper was used with an Impression Obsession pine tree branch die.  I like the whisky feeling of this die for some 3D effect.  The patterned papers were found in my Christmas box of goodies.  I do not know where I got them. Sorry!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment if you have a minute!

Wishing you a Marvelous Monday!
