Thinking of You The Paper Players Challenge PP791

 June 21, 2026

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the daddy's out there.  I sure do miss my Daddy.

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.

The fabulous Jan is our hostess this week and she has a fun Clean and Simple challenge for all of us.  She added the theme of "weather."  There certainly has been some crazy weather lately in the U.S.  There are so many types of weather and I hope you get creative and have fun creating your card.  Don't forget to keep it CAS!

I created a square card this week.   My card base is cut 5 x 5.  I cut another square of water color paper and swooshed Iced Spruce distress ink and water to create the background.  I used a Simon Says Stamp Set called Follow the Rainbows.  I stamped the girl in black in and added a sentiment from the same stamp set.  I did not add any embellishments.  That is hard for me, but I needed to keep it clean and simple.

The Paper Player Guidelines
1.  Create a NEW paper, or digital, project.
2.  Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us.
3.  Please provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge entry.
4.  Please link your card to no more than four challenges, TOTAL.
Entries linked to more than 3 challenges, including ours, will be deleted without notification!
5.  All stamping products are welcome.
6.  Have fun!

  1. I'm impressed by your background. I was sure that it must be paper from your enormous stash but no - you'd made it yourself. It certainly gives a moody feel that works well with the image and the sentiment. Thank you for showing us another angle to the theme. :-)

  2. I'm on a major post-holiday comment catch-up today Claire, so here goes! I was so sure that your background would be DSP - I am so impressed you managed to create this look! The line art uncoloured stamp is so impactful when combined with it - you have nailed the CAS brief this week for sure!

  4. This is such a cool card, Claire! I love that you went out of the box a bit, away from your usual style!! That image is terrific and your background looks very stormy and rainy---great for a weather challenge! I miss my daddy too!

  5. I love that background, it is perfect for a rainy day card and sets off the simple stamping perfectly. I know what you mean about wanting to add embellishments to everything, that's me too! Hope you have a lovely week!

  7. Claire, it doesn't matter how old we are, or how long they have been gone, we are all still Daddy's girls at heart! As for your card, it reminds me of England in summer (or at least it felt like that when I was a kid... before we started having 100+ degree days :-). I love that you kept this clean and simple. The image on that background needs no other embellishment, I think it says it all :-)
