Dance In The Rain--Sparkle & Shine Challenge

April 1, 2016

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkle & Shine!

We have a fabulous inspiration photo for you!  You can create in any way you like as long as we can see the inspiration in your design.

For this challenge we are sponsored by the amazing Create A Smile Stamps! The winner of our challenge will receive a $25 gift card to the online store and will be asked to be our Guest Designer for next month.

I was inspired by the umbrella and dots.  I love polka dots, so it was fun creating these umbrellas using a stamp by My Creative Time - I'm Here For You Rain or Shine.  I stamped the umbrellas on white card stock first and then stamped them again on different colors of polka dot papers.  I fussy cut each one and paper pieced the umbrellas.  The background was created using watercolor paper.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it in clear embossing powder.  I added a splash of watercolor to create the blue background.  The umbrellas were popped up with dimensionals and a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for shine.  Wink of Stella was applied to the umbrellas for extra sparkle!  I hope you find time to "Dance in the Rain!"

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!

I hope you are able to join us in this challenge. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!

Sunnier Days Ahead--PP288

March 27, 2016

HAPPY EASTER to all of you that celebrate!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The Lovely LeAnne is our hostess this week and she has a fabulous sketch challenge for us to play along with!  We can't wait to see what you create!

I created my card using a white card base.  The sunglasses paper and other colored papers are from a paper pack by Carta Bella Summer Lovin'.  The Zig Zag Stitched rectangle die is from SugarPea Designs.  The three colors were cut in small rectangles and embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder from Stampin' Up!  The sentiment is from Flip Flop Season by Simon Says Stamp.  It is stamped on a stitched flag die from My Favorite Things using Melon Mambo ink.  The blue circle is cut using the SugarPea Designs  Zig Zag Stitched circle dies.   The sunglasses (can't find the die name) were cut with Melon Mambo and black card stock.  I shaded in the glasses with a Copic Marker and added Glossy Accents all over the lenses for shine.  I also added a black enamel heart on the sentiment for fun!

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!
