Happy Easter and/or Passover to all that celebrate!
Addison, Victoria and Robert came to visit me during their Spring Break. We had so much fun dying eggs. It is always so exciting to see the expressions on their faces! I hadn't done this in years, and I think I had as much fun as they did!
It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players! The amazing Ann Marie is our hostess this week and she has a fabulous Clean and Simple challenge for all of us. I love "Paper Piecing" so, I found this challenge extra fun!
REMEMBER THIS IS CLEAN AND SIMPLE WEEK - THESE ARE THE RULES WE POST EVERY CAS CHALLENGE
What do we mean by Clean and Simple?
- Minimal layers and embellishments
- Plenty of open space, aka "white" space
- Simple and uncluttered
My card is created on a white card base. I cut the top layer with watercolor paper. I trimmed it with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Die. I smooshed Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks to create the background. I splattered some water on it after it dried to create this look. The little girl is from MFT Pure Innocence Start Each Day With A Whee. I colored her with Copic Markers. I paper pieced her shirt and shorts with scraps I found in my stash. I cut her out using the matching dies. I stamped the sentiment in black. It is from the same stamp set. I still love to swing so, this card makes me smile!

Claire there is nothing like a ride on a swing to make you feel like a young girl again! Your young lady is adorable in her spots and stripes and your background is fabulous! The grands look like they are having so much fun too! Happy Easter wishes to you today! xx
ReplyDeleteYour swinging girl is just too cute, Claire! And, you dressed her perfectly! It's been a while since I've been in a swing, and I'm putting it on my list!
ReplyDeleteClaire, your paper piecing is fabulous! What an adorable card and I love the smooshed background you created. Fabulous CAS card. The kids look as though they had so much fun and I love that you caught sight of the Easter Bunny - hope he left you treats. Oh... and your Iris is gorgeous!
