You're Amazing--Sparkle & Shine Challenge

January 15, 2016

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkle & Shine Challenge Blog.  We are excited you are here and hope that are inspired! For this challenge, please use the photo inspiration below when creating your projects. You can create in any way you like as long as we can see the inspiration in your design.

For this challenge we are sponsored by the amazing online store Right at Home!  The winner of our challenge will receive a $15 gift card to her store and be asked to join us next month as our Guest Designer.

My card was created for a very special friend!  She has a January birthday and loves birds.  I knew just what I wanted to create.

My base card is white.  I created this background on a piece of watercolor paper with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.  I added white pigment ink on the distressed background with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp by Stampin' Up!  I stamped the Hardwood background stamp from Stampin' Up! on white card stock and used Hickory Smoke ink on the stamp.  I sponged more ink over the fence to darken the woodgrain.  The pine branch is from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp- Ornamental Pines.  I stamped it in Momento Black ink that I stamped off before adding it to the card. The sentiment "You're Amazing" (a Simon Says Stamp die) was cut with Real Red card stock and attached with a glue pen.  The bird was stamped in Real Red ink using the Stampin' Up! stamp, Choose Happiness.  I drew in the black beak and wings with a marker.  A few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for sparkle.

I hope you are able to join us in this challenge. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!

HUGS!
Claire

  1. Your card is stunning, , , love the gray and red together. How did you get the stair step fence look? Did you cut out the fence planks individually then glue to card in this stair step fashion?
