You've Got the Write Stuff--Sparkle and Shine Challenge

August 15, 2015

It's time for a new challenge at Sparkle and Shine!  The children have been back to school in Georgia for a few weeks.  I know for many of you that is difficult to believe.  Our inspiration photo is school related, but please feel free to be creative and show us what inspires you in this picture.

For this challenge, we are sponsored by the amazing Winnie & Walter! Their shop contains amazing stamp sets, matching dies and digital images! The winner of our challenge will receive a $25 gift card to their online store!

I am also linking my card to the Curtain Call Challenge!  How amazing that they are using the same inspiration photo for their challenge!  Great minds think alike!  Stop by and see all the amazing inspiration by their DT!

My base card is white.  The black layer is cut with the new Zig Zag stitched rectangle dies by SugarPea Designs.  I also used a sponge dauber to add some white ink so that it looked like a chalkboard.  I used a Simple Stories-Smarty Pants paper pack for the three patterned papers.  The notebook panels were cut using the new SugarPea Designs-Notebook-Journal Card Die.  I used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp and die (Perfectly Preserved) on vellum for my jar.  The pencils were stamped and colored with Copic markers.  They are from the SugarPea Designs-Teacher's Pet stamp set.  I fussy cut the pencils after they were colored.

I guess every teacher needs and apple, so I stamped an apple from the Teacher's Pet stamp set and colored it with Copic Markers.  Then, I added Glossy Accents to make it shine!  Wink of Stella was added to all the pencils for added sparkle.  The sentiment is stamped in black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Black and white Baker's twine was added to the jar.  Clear sparkling sequins were added from Pretty Pink Posh to complete my card.

Hope you are able to join us in this challenge. Check out all of the beautiful cards from the design team on the blog here!

Please leave a comment if you have any questions or thoughts on my card. I love reading your comments. As always, the products used will be listed and linked below.

Hugs,
Claire
