I have been on a mad dash to get everything ready for the Memorial Day weekend! We will have 14 here and that is A LOT of food and drinks to have on hand. I have already been to the grocery 3 times! I am hoping that I don't have to return!
I found a few minutes to make a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.
I really loved this sketch and instantly had something in mind. In keeping with the American theme, I used red, white and blue on my card!
My base card is Whisper White (5 1/2 X 4 1/4). The next layer is also white (5 1/4 x 4). I stenciled the stars in Real Red ink using the Stampin' Up! stars stencil. I stamped the USA on Doddlebug- Patriotic Picnic paper using the Lawn Fawn- Wish You Were Here stamp set and cut it out with the matching die. I added a strip of a different patterned paper from the Doodlebug pack behind the map. I used dimensional tape to raise the USA, after adding some red twine (found in my stash) behind it. I also cut a red star to accent my sentiment. I added a little heart in the state of Georgia! This will be sent to someone special this summer!
I hope you enjoyed my card! Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts! I love to hear from you!
I am adding a special family moment. Our Miss Addison had her Kindergarten program last night. We are so proud of her and can't believe she is ready for First Grade! Time---please slow down!
Have a blessed and wonderful holiday weekend! May we all stop and remember the true meaning of this special day. God Bless America! Thank you for all the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country!
With Love,
Claire
