You Melt My Heart--PP #352

July 9, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The Lovely LeAnne is our hostess this week and she has a beautiful monochromatic color palette for all of us.  We can't wait to see what you create!

My first thought with these colors was flowers, but I decided to step outside the box and use ice cream/popsicles.  I love both and any flavor works for me!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used Berry Blast card stock and the MFT Bold Stripes cover up to create the frame.  The large starburst was cut using SU dies in Sweet Sugarplum.  The small white starburst was cut with the same frames and embossed with a polka dot embossing folder.  The ice creams are stamped in Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum using the Reverse Confetti Let's Chill stamps set and cut with the matching dies.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set and stamped in black ink.   Wink of Stella was added for shine and a few enamel dots were added for fun!

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

  1. Claire, I would never have thought of popsicles - genius, my friend. I love the polka dot DSP with the striped background. And the sentiment is perfect. Fabulous take on the challenge.

  2. I agree with Jaydee--popsicles are genius! Grape is my favorite and these colors are perfect. Love the striped die in the background and how it coordinates with the stripes on the treats. Great card, my friend!

  3. Very clever Claire - I love the spots and stripes theme that runs alongside your lollipops. i would never have thought lollies either with this colour combo - even though I made blueberry ice lollies this very afternoon and often make raspberry ones. Inspired - yours definitely look good enough to eat!

  4. Glad you thought out of the box - flowers are gorgeous but ice cream is delicious. Great idea! I do love that striped cut background you've used. That must be so useful as well as being a stunner.
