Merry Christmas--PP272

November 22, 2015

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players.  The lovely, Laurie is our hostess this week and she has a fabulous sketch for us to use.  We can't wait to see what you create.

I was in a hurry to make a card before I left for Indiana.  My Mom was going to have a heart procedure and my mind was else where.  After I finished my card, I realized that I put my sentiment in the wrong place.  I apologize for that.  I just didn't have time to make another card.

My base card is white.  (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  The next layer is a piece of the Doddlebug Designs SugarPlum Collections.  The candy layer is from the same paper pack and cut with the Simon Says Stamps Rectangle stitched dies.  I used a strip of Garden Green card stock and cut a banner.  I embossed it with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  I cut a small rectangle in a striped paper from the SugarPlum paper pack using the stitched rectangle dies.

The Lawn Fawn Winter Gifts Tags stamp set and Tag You're It dies were used to make the tag.  I heat embossed the sentiment in Zing Rouge embossing powder.  I also cut a Garden Green tag to use under the stamped tag.  I added two Jingle Bells and red and white Baker's Twine for fun.  I stamped the cute moose from My Favorite Things-BB Merry ChristMoose in Momento Rich Cocoa ink.  I colored him with a variety of Copic Markers.  My Favorite Things-BB Christmoose Dies were used to cut the moose out.  I adhered him with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I added Wink of Stella on the moose for added shine.  A few red enamel dots were added for fun.

So happy you stopped by my blog today!  Please leave a message!  I love to hear from you!

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

  9. Sketches are all about the interpretation - I'm sure Laurie would agree the positioning of the sentiment is suggested rather than a 'must do' Claire :-) Besides, it is perfect with that adorable little moose - I just love his sweater and hat! A fab way to incorporate a busy patterned paper - and jingle bells too!!!
