Unfortunately, I needed a sympathy card for a friend that lost her brother to cancer. I didn't have any cards that I thought were appropriate for a man. So, when I saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and the colors at Pals Paper Arts, I knew just what I wanted to do. I thank both teams for helping me with this difficult task! By the way, I LOVE Cajun Craze. I know that is not a favorite of most people!
I began by cutting a small rectangle with my stitches dies on Very Vanilla paper. I stamped the tree from "Lovely As A Tree" with Early Expresso Ink. I stamped it off once so it wasn't so dark. I used my aqua painter and colored the top of the tree with Delightful Dijon, Old Olive and Cajun Craze. I also added some Old Olive at the bottom. I used a Distress Ink, " Broken China" and lightly blended some blue for the sky.
Wishing you a lovely day!
HUGS!

DeleteHello Claire: This stamp set, "Lovely as a Tree" is one of my favorite SU sets, I've had it since it came out a long time ago, so happy they have not retired it yet.

ReplyDeleteAutumn is the perfect theme for a sympathy card. Can't believe I haven't thought of that. I'll be stashing this one in the idea bank. Thanks for sharing at Pals Paper Arts.
