It's Groundhog's Day and I think we are going to have six more weeks of winter! WOW! It is so windy and cold in Georgia today! I feel like I am in Chicago, minus the snow! I made a big pot of turkey chili and we can stay in for the day. YIPPEE---more time to craft! I love days like this!
My card today is for the Always Playing With Paper Challenge. I love the name of this challenge, because I AM always playing with paper!
You can choose to work with the colors or the sketch or mix it up and use both. That is what I did for my card. It was difficult for me to incorporate all of the colors, but I needed a very special card for a friend that lost her Mom, and this called out to me to make a card for her. I hope you enjoy my card!
I love Night of Navy and I used the "Something Lacy" background stamp with Versa Mark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I was so pleased with how it turned out. I used the Banners framelits to trim it down to follow the sketch. In keeping with my plan to use things I already have, I used some retired Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper "Etcetera" and "Epic Day This and That" for the background papers. I also used a retired stamp set, "Petite Pairs" for the sentiment. This is such a great set. I am sorry they retired it.
The butterfly is backed with a polka dot paper that gives it dimension. Pearls always add the perfect accent to it's body! I think pearls make every thing better:)
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Please leave a comment. I love to hear from you!
