Coffee Possibly Vodka--PP380

February 11, 2018

It's time for another challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week and she has a fantastic color challenge for all of us!

I am also entering my card in the CAS-UAL Fridays
Challenge.  They are all about hearts this week!

I really love this color combo!  Red is my favorite color, so I am always happy when it is in a challenge.  The base card is Crumb Cake the the red scalloped layer is a darker red.  I just received this fabulous coffee set from Cas-ual Fridays.  It is called  Cup of Coffee.  I paper pieced the cup with red and white polka dots and colored the coffee with Copic Markers.  I used the matching Coffee Cup dies for the cup and the "coffee" sentiment.  I cut the word "coffee" four times with red and once with Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is stamped in black on the coffee cup.  The white stitched background is stamped with Stamping Bella Java Spills in Tea Dye distress ink.  I love the way this turned out and can't wait to send it to a special friend that loves coffee and vodka!  LOL!

  1. Great card Claire - I love the paper-pieced mug and that sentiment is just too funny! Do they have one that says 'possibly gin'? That I would have to add to my collection lol!

  2. That is one great sentiment! I just said to my husband this morning that coffee is as important to the functioning of modern society as petrol - that was as I was drinking my first cup and beginning to feel human! Love the paper piecing too.

  9. Claire, this is fabulous. I love how you shadowed the sentiment with the red behind - it really makes it pop and I am obsessed with the inside of the coffee cup. Of course, I love the polka dots and the coffee rings and the scalloped edge.. heck... I love it all!
